Great vest, very comfortable. Admittedly, it's not one of the cheapest, but it's worth every penny spent. The flat, wide straps are an excellent solution, allowing freedom in positioning the buttplate. Class of its own, impossible to copy.
Direct Action Spitfire Plate Carrier Tactical Vest - PenCott BadLands
Light and durable Spitfire Plate Carrier tactical vest in PenCott BadLands camouflage. Made from laser-cut laminate, highly durable Cordura 500D, and softshell. The vest’s design doesn’t restrict movement, and its modularity allows it to be tailored to the user's needs.
durable 500D Cordura
The Spitfire Plate Carrier model is made of laser-cut laminate, durable and abrasion-resistant Cordura 500D, and Softshell. The vest’s design doesn’t restrict movement, and its modularity allows for optimal customization to the user's needs.
durable construction, hypalon handles
Thanks to the use of robust and flexible hypalon handles, adjusting the vest is quick and easy. The grips also ensure easy medical access in case first aid is needed and are resistant to abrasion, tears, and extreme temperatures. The vest's design allows for the safe routing of cables near the plate pockets and the Cummerbund. The front flap attaches directly to the vest or via Chest Rig buckles (system compatible with Mayflower/Velocity, HSP, and others), and the vest can also be used without the flap. The interchangeable Cummerbund is equipped with compartments for side plates. The rear panel is compatible with Crye Precision AVS system thanks to zippers. Additionally, the vest features a reinforced evacuation handle.
laser-cut system, velcro panel
The surface of the vest is covered with holes created using Laser-Cut technology, compatible with MOLLE equipment. This allows for any configuration of gear elements like pouches, containers, or pockets. At chest height, there's a zippered pocket with a Velcro panel (hook and loop) that allows for attaching selected patches or emblems.

PenCott BadLands camouflage
PenCott is an advanced system of modern second-generation digital camouflage developed by the British company Hyde Definition. Its characteristic feature is a multi-level pattern structure encompassing micro, mezzo, and macro patterns.
PenCott BadLands is a camouflage variant designed for operations in dry, semi-open areas such as steppes, thickets, grassy areas, and hilly transition zones. It was created with environments in mind where withered plants, dry soil, and varied lighting predominate. The pattern is based on the same structure as other PenCott camouflages - combining realistic color noise, dense micro-pattern, and contrasting elements that disrupt the silhouette. The color scheme of BadLands includes shades of beige, olive, brown, and light green, creating a pattern that effectively blends into the natural surroundings of transitions and dry areas.

The velcro panel is an area with sewn-on Velcro tape that allows easy attachment of various additional items, such as patches or pockets.
Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
LCS (Laser Cut System) is a new version of the assembly used in the MOLLE system, where instead of traditional tapes, laser-cut holes are used directly in the material. The system is much lighter than standard sewn-on PALS tapes and guarantees better camouflage. The holes are hemmed with thread to prevent fuzzing and ripping, or, as in the case of Cordura, the laser-cut edges are fused.

One of the last elements I was missing to complete the set. Very comfortable and durable. The only downside is the lack of the string for quickly removing the vest. Other than that, great vest, 10/10.
-
The vest is solid, fits very well, the possibility of modification is huge, worth its money.
-
A bit small, it doesn't even cover the belly button or the kidneys, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. Besides that, it's easy to put on, easy to take off, and very lightweight.
-
Direct Action means quality workmanship and well-thought-out solutions. Minimalism where it should be. I use it and highly recommend it.
-
The quality of Direct Action equipment probably doesn't need much introduction. As of today, it's one of the top brands in this price range. The vest is comfortable, and the material on the inside works much better than the popular foam + mesh in terms of thermal comfort. Quick and simple adjustment, ballistic plates sit securely and do not move. I recommend it.
-
Excellent system, solid workmanship, a top-tier vest, first class. I highly recommend it. You have to pay a bit for it, but it's worth it.
