ESP Compact Hardened Expandable Baton 21" - Black

The 21-inch (53 cm) telescopic baton is constructed from three sections of hardened Cro-Mo 4130 steel. Featuring a detachable clip, the baton can be easily secured to a belt or the edge of a pocket for quick access. Folded length is 21 cm, making it highly discreet and compact enough to fit in a trouser pocket. Perfect for use as a self-defense weapon, and equally effective for obstacle removal or emergency window breaking.

Segments of the baton are manufactured from cold-drawn seamless tubes of grade CSN 12060 = CK55 - DIN 17200, C55E - EN 10083-1 + A1, made from Cro-Mo 4130 steel. The presence of chromium and molybdenum grants the material excellent resistance to tensile, bending, and fracture stresses. Additionally, baton segments feature a robust nickel-zinc (Ni-ZN) black coating known for its high abrasion resistance and are hardened to achieve a hardness of 40–50 HRC.

The knurled handle is crafted from black lacquered steel, striking a balance between reliable grip and discreet portability. Absence of rubber overlays enables convenient belt or pocket carry and ensures the user can draw the baton swiftly without snagging on attire or gear.

    Sometimes the baton slightly unfolds on its own when lying somewhere, for example, in a backpack. However, this is not a big problem. Apart from that, the baton is definitely solid and there are no problems with folding it. It should easily fit in a pocket. You shouldn't save on your safety, and this is a high-end product.

It's not heavy and yet really substantial. The included clip can be attached to a belt, but even without it, thanks to the size and the fact that it has a ribbed (not rubber) grip, it works well in a pocket. Shipping was lightning fast.

    I bought it in-store a year ago. Unfortunately, the salesperson tried to fold it by hitting it on a stone, which caused some of the lacquer to come off. Another thing is that the cup system can actually be stiff at first, and you have to use a lot of force to fold it.
