It unfolds and folds quickly. So far, I haven't had to use it, but just the sound of unfolding and having it in my hand makes drunk troublemakers back off.

A baton is a baton. The downside is the weak magnet holding the pin, and the lack of a rubber handle. For self-defense, I prefer to use gas, but as a deterrent (and I had the unpleasantness of using it) it works just fine. If you know how to handle it, that's great, otherwise I recommend gas.

The baton, or rather the spring, is too soft. The weight is almost 400 g. The handle is not rubberized and is thin. There is a rather weak magnet in the cap that holds the middle spring when folded so that it does not slide out of the tube on its own. Psychologically, it may work, both by increasing the owner's sense of security and deterring an aggressor, but in practice it will be of little effectiveness in my humble opinion.

Unfortunately, I don't have a good opinion about this baton, because during self-defense you can end up hurting yourself quite a bit. You also can't fold it up quickly. I would recommend a baton-type stick, which doesn't have these shortcomings.
