Constructed from NyCo fabric—a durable blend of nylon and cotton—the hat features a Rip-Stop weave that effectively resists further fraying or tearing, even when minor damage is sustained. Inside, a reflective layer enhances safety by allowing the hat to mark the wearer or assist in signaling their location during emergencies. Additionally, a specially designed loop enables easy attachment to the Helikon-Tex Raid sweatshirt.

Fitted with four ventilated openings featuring protective grilles to block insects, the hat offers enhanced comfort in the field. Its wide brim ensures reliable shielding from both sun and rain. The Mk2 variant incorporates a drawstring that enables neck length customization for additional support. Positioned above the brim, a reinforced tape has been stitched on to facilitate the attachment of small essentials like insect repellent or camouflage accessories.

MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage design, introduced in 2002 by Crye Precision, a US-based company, in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) within the framework of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The purpose behind its development was to engineer a highly adaptable camouflage pattern suitable for various types of terrain and fluctuating environmental conditions. Featuring a palette of seven colors, the MultiCam pattern skillfully blends gradients of green, brown, and beige. Such coloration enables the pattern to shift visually, adopting green undertones in wooded surroundings or taking on browns and beiges in arid, desert landscapes — a capability that proves especially effective in Central and Eastern European terrain during autumn or in regions of dried vegetation. Garnering global acclaim, MultiCam is now employed by a wide range of military forces and specialized tactical units. In 2010, it became the official camouflage for the US Army in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern's availability for civilian use has also made it a favored option among military enthusiasts and airsoft players.
