Helikon-Tex CPU NyCo Rip-Stop Pants - PenCott SandStorm

Tactical pants CPU (Combat Patrol Uniform) refer to the cut of the Polish Army wz. 2010 uniform and the American ACU uniform used by line units in Iraq and Afghanistan. The well-thought-out cut ensures freedom of movement, and the ergonomic placement of pockets makes it easier to carry essential equipment. The model is well-suited for both tactical operations and everyday use in the field.

Rip-Stop weave reinforced fabric

NYCO RipStop fabric (50% nylon, 50% cotton) combines the comfort provided by cotton with the high durability of synthetic fibers. The applied Rip-Stop weave restricts the enlargement of any possible tears, increasing the material's resistance to mechanical damage and intensive use in the field. The addition of nylon makes the fabric lighter, more abrasion-resistant, and quicker to dry compared to pure cotton, which translates into greater functionality in variable weather conditions.

10 spacious pockets

The pants are characterized by high functionality and quality of workmanship. They are equipped with 10 pockets: two in the front, two small open front ones, 2 cargo pockets secured with Velcro, two calf pockets, also secured with Velcro, and two back pockets.

Reinforced construction and easy adjustment

The pants design with reinforcements on the buttocks and knees ensures long-term use and increased resistance to intensive field exploitation. The model is equipped with drawstrings that allow for waist adjustment, enabling a better fit to the figure. Additionally, the knee area features special pockets intended for protective pads, enhancing comfort and safety in use.

PenCott SandStorm camouflage

PenCott is an advanced second-generation digital camouflage system developed by the British company Hyde Definition. Its key feature is a multi-layered pattern structure, combining micro, meso, and macro elements.

PenCott SandStorm is the desert variant designed for operations in dry, sandy, and rocky environments. It is intended for use in conditions of strong sunlight, limited vegetation, and high light contrasts typical of deserts and semi-deserts. SandStorm is based on a three-layer structure-micropattern, realistic color noise, and contrasting blotches-that effectively break up the silhouette both at close range and long distance. The color palette features shades of beige, light brown, and sand, with subtle grays that mimic natural desert textures.

Rip-Stop

Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.

NyCo feature
NyCo

NyCo is a fabric made from a blend of nylon and cotton fibers, often used in a 50:50 ratio. Nylon increases the material's resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, and supports faster drying, while cotton improves breathability and wearing comfort. The combination of both fibers makes it possible to create a durable, relatively lightweight material suitable for intensive use, especially in outdoor and tactical clothing.

My second favorite cut after the SFU Next. Highly recommended pants, especially for the two upper slanted pockets—for smartphone or ID. Unfortunately, in newer batches, Helikon has significantly narrowed them, but it can be fixed at a tailor because there is enough material to make them wider. The cut is slimmer than the SFU Next.

I like the CPU cut and these are yet another pair of pants I've purchased from Helikon. The interesting and quite unusual camouflage is just right for this year's and future hot summers. The great price reduction also encouraged me to buy. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but the small pockets above the cargo pockets on the thighs are slightly narrower in my pair than in similar pants, so if someone has a larger smartphone than my Redmi5 (about 74mm wide), it just won't fit.

Great pants. Very comfortable and practical. The pockets are fantastic. Helikon tex—top quality at a good price as always. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I recommend.

I bought the pants by accident because I was looking for other ones in Multicam, but I have a few items in PenCott Badlands, which is a really cool camouflage, so I decided to buy SandStorm. It's great—both the micro and macro patterns wonderfully blur the silhouette. The pants are very comfortable with a loose fit, so they're comfortable in any position. NYCO is different than Ripstop but more breathable and dries faster. Pants get 5/5 for functionality and camouflage. I recommend them for hot summer days.

Good NYCO material, it's a pity that less and less is being produced from it, comfortable, practical, interesting camouflage.

Very comfortable tactical pants—you wear them like tracksuit bottoms, yet they have plenty of useful pockets.

Helikon, as always, does a good job. The trousers are well tailored, fit me perfectly – I am 176 cm and 76 kg – size S is perfect in this model. And the pattern – Badlands is really good for buildings, in autumn, and in snowless winter.

Very well-made pants. The colors are well saturated. Comfortable, with extra drawstrings on the sides, allowing you to adjust them precisely. I sincerely recommend them.

Helikon speaks for itself, solid pants. I highly recommend the camouflage pattern, which is not very common, though effective.

Color-wise, it's brilliant. However, they're very roomy. I had to shorten and narrow them.

Super comfortable (although baggy, which might bother some) trousers in the best camouflage! The color holds better than on Leo Kohler's trousers.
