There are many varieties of boonie hats available, and the choice largely depends on individual preference. I particularly like the Helikon CPU model. It is clearly a variant inspired by the Australian-British style, which is why it has a shorter brim than some other boonie hats. Instead of the classic metal eyelets, a different ventilation system is used here: slits in the outer material with mesh lining underneath. It is hard for me to say definitively whether this works better or worse in practice, but I believe the hat performs well in hot weather, and the sweatband does its job properly. With baseball caps, I often get visible sweat marks on the brim, whereas with the CPU this problem does not occur. I also appreciate the classic chin strap with a cord lock and the additional cord lock above the brim, which is useful in stronger wind. I will add that I had previously owned and worn a Helikon CPU in Polish desert camouflage in size XL. I wondered whether size M might be better. After measuring my head circumference, I got 57 inches. In the end, I concluded that the CPU in coyote color in size M was a bit too tight compared with the XL, so I passed it on to my wife, who liked it very much. If your head circumference is 57 inches or more, I would most likely recommend size XL.

The hat is very comfortable and doesn’t cause chafing anywhere. You can add some camouflage to it. It’s a pity that Helikon doesn’t make other camouflage patterns as well.

A very good hat — it fits great and looks good. The ventilation holes proved effective during six days of camping, at times in temperatures clearly exceeding 30°C. I have only one minor remark: the hook-and-loop panel would fit better on the front than on the top, although this is probably due to its tactical use. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Helikon CPU PolyCotton Rip-Stop Hat - wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland is a great hat. Comfortable, pleasant to the touch, and compresses easily. It also doesn't have a huge brim, which is very useful for camouflage in the forest.

For a long time I used a hat from Deca. Since I got this one, I haven't touched the old one ;) It's very well made, works great with mosquito nets, I can only recommend it.

The best hat in its class. A classic from Helikon. The ventilation holes in the hat are covered mesh tunnels. These tunnels widen up to the top part of the hat—this solution means the air circulation is much better compared to classic ventilation holes. Wearing comfort is increased by the sweatband on the forehead, which prevents sweat from accumulating. Perfect for summer.

The hat works well. I used it in the mountains, on the training ground, and at the sea. It protects against the sun and is fairly airy. In insect areas, combined with a mosquito net, it protects against bites. The material is durable, workmanship good. Recommended.

Good quality product, airy, durable. Can definitely be recommended. Advantages are the drawstring and mesh so that nothing gets inside. It's definitely ok.
