Durable Rip-Stop reinforced fabric, VersaStretch material

Constructed from premium fabric with a 225 g/m2 grammage, the pants feature a composition of 50% cotton and 50% nylon, enhanced by a Rip-Stop weave. The fabric’s design, incorporating thicker threads in a reinforcing grid pattern, significantly boosts resistance to abrasion and tearing, effectively halting the progression of potential damage. These qualities render the pants ideal for use in rugged field environments, offering both longevity and comfort. An extra layer of VersaStretch material (comprising 93% nylon and 7% elastane) is strategically applied to the seat and crotch areas, delivering superior ease of movement.

Designed with 8 roomy pockets for optimal storage:

  • a pair of inset hip pockets with reinforced openings
  • a pair of reinforced rear pockets
  • two spacious cargo pockets secured by buttons
  • two compact calf-level pockets fastened with Velcro

YKK zipper, adjustable waistband and legs, wide belt loops

A wide Velcro closure replaces the traditional button, allowing the waist to be easily adjusted for a customized fit. The fly utilizes a zipper crafted by the renowned Japanese manufacturer YKK. Wide belt loops accept belts up to 50 mm in width, providing excellent stability, even when carrying heavy gear. The two front loops feature additional loops to attach small accessories as needed. Adjustable elastic cords with stoppers are placed at the leg cuffs for a tailored fit.

    The quality of the material and workmanship of the trousers is more than decent - as with most Helikon products. The XL Long size turned out to be just right for 191 cm/96 kg. I recommend this product for its comfort and quality of workmanship; these are some of my favorite trousers.

    The pants are great; despite the various opinions about Helikon, they maintain their quality. The size chart matches reality. Compared with the UTP pants, they are slightly longer, have a different pocket layout, and huge cargo pockets raised higher for convenience. There are also drawcords at the bottom. For me, the downside is the too small number of belt loops (on the sides) and the rear pockets. A magazine, for example for an AR, will fit widthwise, but they are quite shallow. The ones in the UTP version are much better. At this price, especially on sale, there’s no need to hesitate. Worth it!

    The trousers ordered on Friday at 4:30 PM arrived on Saturday at 10:00 AM. The size fits perfectly (L-long) for a height of 186 cm and 90 cm at the waist. Velcro is a great solution, but we'll see how it holds up over time. The wide waistband and good cut keep the trousers in place. I only have concerns about chafing on the inner thighs due to the combination of material and the elastic insert at the crotch. The right underwear should resolve this concern. Time for thorough testing.

    Mud Brown is my second pair, bought a year after the Olive version. The trousers are comfortable, flexible, and styled like classic assault pants. If someone doesn’t like looking too "tactical" as with the MCDU variant, this model is for them. I advise against putting small items and car, house, etc. keys into the cargo pockets, because they can "fall out" ;)

    These are truly excellent trousers. I already own three pairs of the Helikon-Tex MBDU model, and recently I got another pair in multicam black and FAL 7013 colors. This is a premium product, made very solidly and with great attention to quality. Large side cargo pockets fastened with Canadian buttons, durable rip-stop fabric, and an exceptionally comfortable cut are among their major advantages. On top of that, they look great when worn. It is hard for me to adequately describe how comfortable these trousers are, especially during the recent heatwaves. I wholeheartedly recommend both this model and this brand.

    I bought size M because that is what I currently wear, and although generally all the other Helikon trouser models I have bought recently (UTP, HOP, Next, Blizzard and others) fit perfectly, this model seems somewhat too small. In general, I have trouble putting my hands into the side pockets. If their angle were different, more classic, it might look better in my case. On the other hand, they seem solidly sewn, and the material looks like it will last a long time.

    Not the first and not the last pair of Helikon pants in my collection. Maybe they’re not ultra-tactical because they’re a bit baggy, but who cares, since most people are couch commandos (R). Spacious pockets, though I do miss organizers in them; unfortunately, a wallet or tissues move around a bit, and when getting into, for example, a car, you have to readjust them. On the plus side, there are reinforcements on the pocket edge for those who don’t leave home without a knife.

    These MBDU pants truly impressed me. The material is very good, and the workmanship is extremely solid. The sizing is accurate, so the pants fit perfectly.
