Helikon-Tex Pilgrim Anorak Jacket - Black

Anorak jacket equipped with a hood, presented in Black. The exterior is crafted from durable DuraCanvas fabric. A high collar with a chin guard, reliable YKK zippers, attachment loops, and multiple functional pockets ensure organized storage of essential gear. Engineered specifically for touring in demanding and unpredictable weather conditions. The elongated cut delivers superior protection for the body, regardless of movement intensity.

spark-resistant DuraCanvas material

Constructed from rugged, quick-drying, and spark-resistant DuraCanvas fabric with a weight of 230 g/m2, the Pilgrim jacket offers outstanding durability. The fabric incorporates stretch properties, ensuring unrestricted movement in the field. Additional benefit comes from the option to enhance the fabric’s water resistance by applying wax. The elongated back adds extra protection against cold drafts.

7 spacious pockets

The Pilgrim Anorak features 7 functional pockets, providing optimal organization of your gear:

  • two chest pockets, secured with a flap and a Canadian button
  • two Napoleon pockets with organizers, fastened with zippers
  • two shoulder pockets, each zippered
  • one front kangaroo pocket

The main "kangaroo" compartment is zippered and accessible from both sides, offering a warm lining for warming up cold hands.

YKK zippers

The main half-zip closure features a YKK two-way zipper. A stand-up collar is equipped with a protective guard to prevent the zipper from pinching the chin. Tape-made internal loops become accessible when the primary zipper is undone, enabling secure attachment of additional gear.

adjustable hood, cuffs, ventilation holes

An adjustable hood equipped with a visor and a high-standing collar shield effectively from wind and rain. Cuffs secured with Velcro as well as waist drawstrings enable tailoring the jacket to individual body shapes. Underarm ventilation openings featuring mesh-lined zippers boost airflow and help maintain optimal temperature regulation.

A great anorak, both in terms of cut and the quality of workmanship and materials. I have two pairs of trousers made of Duracanvas, and it is true that the fabric is excellent for waxing. What one of the users wrote is not true: that the manufacturer is inventing a legend around the material by recommending waxing. This user has clearly never waxed Duracanvas and has pulled that opinion out of thin air. Please also do not be guided by the opinion of the person who discredited this excellent product and material on the basis of minor colour abrasion where the drawstring sits on the back. Such a phenomenon is completely natural. I know what I’m talking about, because I have had many military-spec contract parkas made of the best materials, and all of them wear in that spot. Yes, this is normal.

    Size: L

I’m planning to return this anorak, but not because it fits badly. At 184 cm tall, with a 105 cm waist, 112 cm chest, and a weight of 90 kg, size L fits me perfectly. I also have no complaints about the workmanship — the materials and seams are flawless. However, I came to the conclusion that it won’t be the best choice for the use I had in mind, namely primarily for hiking. This is mainly due to its weight and bulk — in size L it weighs 1.07 kg, so it is simply too heavy and not very handy — as well as the design itself, because it is an anorak, not a classic jacket. Only after receiving it and trying it on did I fully understand that it is worth trusting the manufacturer’s description: this is an advanced bushcraft anorak designed for use in variable weather. However, if you are looking for clothing for bushcraft, the Pilgrim Anorak is most likely one of the best options.

My measurements are 193 cm in height and 98.5 kg in weight, and I have a slight belly. Size 2XL fits with a slight oversized looseness, just right to fit a thicker fleece underneath. The sleeve length is suitable for my height; with the cuff loosened, they reach my knuckles, so I have enough extra length to keep the fabric from pulling when bending my arms. A great design concept is the use of pockets typical of a smock on the upper part of the torso. A big plus for the waist drawcord with shock cord.

Well-thought-out pockets with compartments, additional loops for carabiners, a great cut, and what appeals to me the most are the zip-open underarm vents. If the Pilgrim had full side zips like the Woodsman, it would be the perfect anorak. With measurements of 184 cm height, 102 cm at the waist, 112 cm in the chest, and 92 kg body weight, size L fits me perfectly.

    Size: XL

I really like the jacket and it is comfortable. The only downside does not concern the product itself — the size chart indicated that size M would definitely be far too small for me. In the end, I ordered XL, which is the size I have always worn.

Very well-made jacket, great for outdoor activities. The solid material, comfortable fit, and large number of practical pockets make it very functional.

The jacket is well-made from durable material. I think it will serve me for many years. It has a nice, loose fit that allows you to wear an extra layer underneath in winter.

The best jacket I have ever had, 185 cm tall and 74 kg, size S is fine with a fleece underneath, very comfortable, windproof, long and covers the buttocks, spacious hood, the collar beautifully covers the neck, the jacket seems very resistant to wear, a wonderful thing. I have Woodsmans, Yukon Sasa Smoka, but this Pilgrim has enchanted me, I'm waiting for a promotion to buy a black one.

I am 176 cm tall and weigh 72 kg. I chose size M and it fits perfectly. The material is quite quiet when moving and pleasant to the touch on the outside. Inside, there is almost exclusively mesh, which is a great solution, and the numerous ventilation holes ensure very good breathability.

I received the jacket as a gift. At a height of 190 cm, the XXL size is just right in length and sleeves, and the Earth/Brown color goes well with the MCDU Desert Night Camo pants. I admit that I'm not entirely convinced by the idea of putting it on over the head, especially after a rainy day, but I must admit it is very comfortable. My concern is the durability of the product, which is supposedly indestructible, but someone has reported it wore out just from carrying a regular backpack (?!).

I am very satisfied, although I think a larger size would be better. I chose L, and I am 193 cm tall with a slim build. The sleeves could be 1–2 cm longer, but everything else fits well. After all, this is a jacket for the spring-autumn period.

This is truly an excellent jacket. High quality and careful workmanship. The anorak works great during walks in the countryside and in the forest with my dog. The sizing is accurate – I am 183 cm tall, slim build, and the jacket fits perfectly even over a sweater and fleece. This is another product from this brand that I have bought, and every time the transaction was professional and hassle-free. I sincerely recommend both the company and this jacket.

I already have this jacket in black and I like it so much that I decided to buy the green version as well. I particularly like the four chest pockets and the sleeve pockets, as they are very useful for carrying various small items. I am 180 cm tall and have a 104 cm chest, and size M fits perfectly. The back of the jacket is long enough to cover the buttocks well. Since you put it on over your head, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to put on or take off, but its numerous advantages make up for this drawback. The material is strong, though not waterproof, but I wash it with waterproofing and thanks to that, it becomes much more resistant to rain.

Very nice jacket. I bought it in Taiga Green color. I've had it for 1.5 years now, so I can say something about it. With a height of 171 cm and a weight of 83 kg, size L is good. I can wear a medium-thickness fleece underneath and it's ok. The cut of the jacket is nice. A great solution is the underarm ventilation with zippers and mesh, which helps regulate temperature during intense outdoor work. The slanted pockets are well thought out, with zippered pockets underneath. A good feature is the drawstring adjustment at the bottom of the jacket. If needed, I can extend the jacket for protection of the back and lower back, or shorten it to waist length by tightening the drawstrings. The large front pass-through pocket is very spacious and is used for carrying a map, buff, or gloves. The material of the jacket is very durable against sharp vegetation and rain. So far it hasn't soaked through and has never let me down. I am very satisfied with the jacket. It is made with great attention to detail. I recommend it because it's worth it.

The size M jacket weighs 1043 g – that's 8 g more than my old, faded BW parka. In terms of size, they are almost identical – the Pilgrim has an extended back, the German one has plenty of buttons, epaulettes, and brass snaps. But how long can you keep wearing a parka from 1996? For my 170 cm height, size M is good, the sleeves are perfect, and I can fit a 100 fleece underneath, a Deca insulated jacket, and a thick padded vest. The downside for me is the Canadian buttons. Kudos to anyone who can open that pocket with one hand (the other might be injured). Snaps like in the BW or Swiss models are a better solution. That's why I give one star less. PRS
