I bought this filter as a complement to the membrane and carbon filter from LifeStraw. Thanks to this solution, I don't have to draw water with larger physical impurities into the membrane filter, and at the same time, a certain percentage of biological contaminants will already be caught (since they'll be attached to the physical particles caught by the Helikon filter). In addition, the filter has a very nice design, with the possibility to hang it and an integrated case.

Very lightweight and well-made bag for filtering water. The integrated pouch is nice and means the kit takes up very little space. The cotton is of very good quality and the shape of the material is well thought out. I haven't tried it yet, but after all, it's Helikon, and as you know, this company doesn't release any duds on the market, as reflected by 100 percent positive opinions about it. I recommend it.

It works great as a supplement to the Katadyn filter. After pre-cleaning the water with this filter, you have to clean the main filter much less often. It doesn’t take up much space in the backpack.

Perfect filter for preliminary water purification from mechanical and some biological contaminants. Lightweight, packable, and at a low price, so just go for it.

I haven't used it yet. The idea seems nice. I'm just wondering about the instructions, which in the first step suggest immersing the bag in clean water. If I had enough clean water to submerge the bag, I wouldn't need to filter it. Well, maybe if I needed more than half a liter, it would make sense, but at the start, I would need about half a liter of clean water. I wonder what the manufacturer's idea for later cleaning is? After turning the bag inside out, it turns out the material frays, and it must be cleaned well so it doesn't get moldy.
