This is not my first product from the Helikon-Tex brand. I already own many of their items – from fleece hats and courier bags to Pilgrim Duracanvas anoraks. I must admit that I am a fan of the brand and I appreciate their thoughtful designs and the functionality they offer in products of excellent quality. My opinion may therefore be slightly subjective. When browsing the new Helikon-Tex website during Easter, I didn't plan on buying insulated clothing – I was more curious about their offer. Until now, I wore the Patagonia Nano Air Ultralight Pullover, which works great as a lightweight layer for cooler days during intensive activities, although it lacked certain conveniences to consider it perfect. These shortcomings have been eliminated in the Helikon-Tex Wolfhound Hoodie Light. The Wolfhound provides better insulation – 40 g/m instead of 20 g/m, which gives more comfort during moderate activity and less dynamic tasks. The jacket still fits into its own pocket and can be attached to gear. If I could suggest something, I would add a visible lizard logo on the outside when the jacket is packed into the top pocket. It's definitely easier to compress it into the front kangaroo pocket – once folded, it also works great as a pillow. Temperature regulation is possible thanks to the large neck zipper (one-way) and the elastic drawcord at the bottom. The size is accurate, but it's always worth checking the chart before buying. The jacket is really comfortable. What could still be improved? Maybe gear loops in the kangaroo pocket, a two-way zipper, or the option to tuck the hood into the collar. Overall, I consider the Wolfhound a definite improvement. I ordered the jacket during the Easter holidays. It arrived in the USA within a few days, and despite the express shipping costs and new customs fees, it was still cheaper than fashionable brand products.
