Kershaw Bel Air XL EMT Folding Rescue Knife - Orange

Folding rescue knife featuring a compact profile and a robust, ergonomic construction. Outfitted with a Sheepsfoot blade crafted from CPM MagnaCut steel. Engineered specifically for rescue missions where reliable performance is crucial in emergency situations, no matter the environmental conditions. The rounded tip combined with a partially serrated edge ensures safe cutting of materials like seat belts and clothing, minimizing the risk of accidental harm. The high-visibility orange handle is constructed from tough G10 laminate.

CPM MagnaCut steel

Forged from CPM MagnaCut stainless powder steel and hardened to 62-64 HRC, the blade boasts exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion, while maintaining minimal risk of chipping or cracking. A Blackwash finish is applied to the surface for added scratch protection.

Sheepsfoot blade profile, partially serrated cutting edge

The Sheepsfoot blade profile features a length of 82 mm and a thickness of 3.2 mm. With a full flat grind, the blade incorporates a partially serrated edge, making it effective for slicing through tough and synthetic materials such as ropes or straps. A rounded tip enhances safety in rescue scenarios, enabling the knife to be handled securely in close proximity to an injured person’s body while minimizing the chance of accidental injuries.

Reliable, smooth deployment is provided by the KVT ball bearing system, which greatly reduces operational friction and enables swift, one-handed blade opening via a thumb stud.

G10 laminate handle and deep-carry clip

Constructed from G10 laminate, the handle combines a lightweight design with exceptional strength, ensuring a firm hold and superior user comfort. Featuring a deep-carry clip, the knife can be discreetly and securely carried, with attachment points on both sides of the handle to suit individual preferences. Positioned at the rear of the handle, a carbide glass breaker has been integrated, allowing for swift window breaking in emergency scenarios.

DuraLock locking mechanism

The DuraLock mechanism secures the blade firmly in the open position, reliably stopping accidental closure. This ensures safe knife operation, even under demanding conditions.

Kershaw

Militaria.pl is a distributor of Kershaw.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.

CPM MagnaCut feature
CPM MagnaCut
CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.
KVT - Kershaw Velocity Technology feature
KVT - Kershaw Velocity Technology
KVT (Kershaw Velocity Technology) is an advanced ball bearing system developed by Kershaw that ensures smooth and quick blade opening in folding knives. The mechanism is based on a ball bearing in which the balls are mounted in a plastic cage - this solution stabilizes the rolling elements and additionally minimizes friction, which translates into very smooth blade movement. In practice, KVT makes opening the knife with a flipper or thumb stud as easy and fast as in models with mechanical opening assistance, while maintaining the manual nature of the operation.
DuraLock feature
DuraLock
DuraLock is a cross-lock system developed by Kershaw as its own interpretation of the Axis Lock. It uses a steel bar and omega springs to lock the blade in the open position, ensuring high durability and safety of use. The mechanism operates smoothly, is operated on both sides, and allows for easy opening and closing with one hand.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
