Kershaw Bel Air XL EMT Rescue Folding Knife - Black

A compact, foldable rescue knife featuring a rugged and ergonomic design. Outfitted with a Sheepsfoot-style blade crafted from CPM MagnaCut steel, this tool is built for demanding rescue missions where reliability in emergency scenarios is essential, no matter the circumstances. Incorporating a rounded tip and a partially serrated edge, the blade ensures safe cutting through materials like seat belts or clothing, minimizing any risk of accidental harm. For enhanced durability, the black handle is constructed from tough G10 laminate.

CPM MagnaCut steel

Forged from CPM MagnaCut stainless powder steel with a hardened rating of 62-64 HRC, the blade delivers exceptional abrasion and corrosion resistance, while offering minimal risk of chipping or cracking. Finished with the Blackwash technique, the surface effectively diminishes glare and adds enhanced scratch protection.

Sheepsfoot blade profile, partially serrated cutting edge

Featuring a Sheepsfoot profile blade with a length of 82 mm and a thickness of 3.2 mm, this model is crafted with a full flat grind and incorporates a partially serrated edge for efficient cutting of tough and synthetic materials, such as straps and ropes. Equipped with a rounded tip, the blade is designed to enhance safety during rescue missions by enabling secure use close to the body of a casualty and minimizing the risk of unintentional injuries.

A KVT ball bearing system delivers exceptionally smooth blade deployment, drastically decreasing operational resistance and supporting swift, one-handed blade access via a thumb stud.

G10 laminate handle and deep-carry clip

Featuring a lightweight yet exceptionally durable handle crafted from G10 laminate, this knife ensures a secure and comfortable grip. The deep-carry clip enables discreet and safe carrying, with the option for dual-side mounting on the handle to accommodate personal preference. A built-in carbide glass breaker is positioned at the end of the handle, providing rapid window-breaking capability in emergency scenarios.

DuraLock locking mechanism

The DuraLock mechanism secures the blade firmly in the open position, reliably preventing any unintentional closure. Such a solution ensures safe knife operation, even under demanding or adverse conditions.

Kershaw

Militaria.pl is a distributor of Kershaw.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.

CPM MagnaCut feature
CPM MagnaCut
CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.
KVT - Kershaw Velocity Technology feature
KVT - Kershaw Velocity Technology
KVT (Kershaw Velocity Technology) is an advanced ball bearing system developed by Kershaw that ensures smooth and quick blade opening in folding knives. The mechanism is based on a ball bearing in which the balls are mounted in a plastic cage - this solution stabilizes the rolling elements and additionally minimizes friction, which translates into very smooth blade movement. In practice, KVT makes opening the knife with a flipper or thumb stud as easy and fast as in models with mechanical opening assistance, while maintaining the manual nature of the operation.
DuraLock feature
DuraLock
DuraLock is a cross-lock system developed by Kershaw as its own interpretation of the Axis Lock. It uses a steel bar and omega springs to lock the blade in the open position, ensuring high durability and safety of use. The mechanism operates smoothly, is operated on both sides, and allows for easy opening and closing with one hand.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Blackwash feature
Blackwash
Blackwash is a finish that combines oxidation (graphite-black shade of steel) with the Stonewash technique. The blade is first coated with black and then treated in a drum with abrasive. This creates an aging effect - a dark background with lighter abrasions and micro-scratches. This gives the knife a raw, “used” look, masks scratches well, reduces light reflections, and works well in tactical knives. Thanks to its combination of practicality and aesthetics, Blackwash is popular in EDC, outdoor, and combat knives.
