Kershaw Leek King's Camo Folding Knife - XK7

A folding knife featuring a Drop-Point blade design, with a blade length of 76 mm, crafted from corrosion-resistant 14C28N stainless steel. The use of robust materials and precision engineering has resulted in a folder that delivers both superior cutting capability and exceptional durability.

Developed through a partnership between Kershaw and King's Camo, the Leek model takes shape from the expertise of acclaimed knifemaker Ken Onion. Engineered for versatility across multiple activities, the knife provides an ideal combination of reliable performance, strength, and comfort for the user.

hardened 14C28N stainless steel, blackwash coating

Forged from top-tier 14C28N stainless steel, the knife's blade achieves a hardness rating of 58-60 HRC. This steel is recognized for its exceptional hardness and outstanding resistance to corrosion. The fine-grained composition also ensures the blade is straightforward to sharpen.

A rugged Blackwash coating, highly resistant to scratches, envelops the blade. This finish provides a matte, irregular texture on the steel, effectively concealing wear and tear marks accumulated during use.

Drop-Point blade profile, jimping

Equipped with a Drop-Point blade shape, a smooth cutting edge, and a length of 76 mm. Jimping (texturing) on the blade spine provides a secure thumb rest, ensuring enhanced control and stability when cutting.

aluminum handle in XK7 camouflage

The handle, finished in XK7 camouflage, is crafted from robust 6061-T6 aluminum, a material renowned for its lightweight properties and exceptional resistance to mechanical wear. Offering outstanding durability against impacts and heavy use, the handle is designed for reliability both in everyday situations and in challenging outdoor environments. An ergonomically shaped handle promotes a natural grip, enhancing both comfort and operational control.

liner lock, thumb stud, flipper and assisted opening

The knife offers quick and effortless blade deployment via a dual-sided thumb stud or SpeedSafe assisted flipper. The Leek model features a slider blade lock in the closed position, located on the rear of the handle. When opened, a robust Liner-Lock secures the blade, reliably preventing any accidental closure during use.

spring clip, lanyard hole

Effortless transportation of the tool is provided by a spring-loaded clip with two positions, making it simple to fasten onto a belt, pocket seam, or other gear. At the end of the handle, a hole is incorporated for attaching a cord or lanyard, helping to prevent the knife from being misplaced.

Militaria.pl is a distributor of Kershaw.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
SpeedSafe (ZT) feature
SpeedSafe (ZT)
SpeedSafe is a patented blade opening assistance system developed by Ken Onion for Kershaw. The mechanism uses an internal spring installed in the handle, which, when the user presses the flipper or thumb stud, smoothly and quickly completes the blade deployment. Once in the open position, the blade is secured by a standard lock, which prevents accidental closure during use. SpeedSafe was introduced to the market in the late 1990s and is used in Kershaw and Zero Tolerance knives.
Aluminium feature
Aluminium
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles and structural elements. It is characterized by low weight, high corrosion resistance, and high susceptibility to machining and anodizing, which allows for durable, aesthetic surfaces in various colors. Well-chosen aluminum alloys provide adequate rigidity while maintaining low weight, which makes knives more comfortable to carry on a daily basis. In addition, this material is weather-resistant, does not rust, and withstands intensive use well, which is why it is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and outdoor tools.
Blackwash feature
Blackwash
Blackwash is a finish that combines oxidation (graphite-black shade of steel) with the Stonewash technique. The blade is first coated with black and then treated in a drum with abrasive. This creates an aging effect - a dark background with lighter abrasions and micro-scratches. This gives the knife a raw, “used” look, masks scratches well, reduces light reflections, and works well in tactical knives. Thanks to its combination of practicality and aesthetics, Blackwash is popular in EDC, outdoor, and combat knives.
