This is definitely the best Leatherman I’ve ever had. It is noticeably sturdier than the Wave and Charge models, while also offering the durability and rigidity known from the SuperTool 300, packed into a compact format similar to 91 mm Victorinox knives. The pliers are on par with small Knipex pliers (0822145), while the Rebar performs better when it comes to wire cutters. The plain knife blade is similar in size to the one found on 91 mm Victorinox models, but it cuts much more effectively thanks to its hollow grind, and it is also more comfortable to use. On a Victorinox, the sharp edges of the aluminum scales and the tools themselves can dig into your hand, whereas the Rebar offers a smooth, rounded handle that is far more pleasant to hold. Additionally, unlike the 91 mm Victorinox, it has a locking mechanism. A special mention should go to the exceptionally sturdy Phillips screwdriver — one of Leatherman’s best solutions. Compared with the thin stamped pieces found in other models, it performs excellently, and if someone wants to, they can add an adapter for full-size 1/4" bits, although personally I prefer to carry a separate holder. Right out of the box, because of the black oxide coating, the multitool operates quite stiffly, and the black surfaces really can leave marks. However, it is enough to wash it with warm water and dish soap, dry it thoroughly, lubricate it, and spend a little while opening and closing the tools. In fact, it is sensible to do the same with any knife, including a Victorinox. After about an hour, everything breaks in and works very smoothly. The price at military.eu is excellent, and it is hard to find a better one in other stores. It does not come with a sheath, but with such a small, pocket-sized tool that is not a problem for me — hardly anyone is going to carry it on a belt anyway. With the SuperTool 300, the lack of a sheath would probably be more noticeable. There is also no “certificate of authenticity” sticker on the box, but it is in no way connected with Leatherman — it is an idea invented by a Czech seller. Military.eu is a Polish store, so its absence is completely natural. There is nothing to worry about, however, because Leatherman’s 25-year warranty applies worldwide regardless of any sticker.
