Flecktarn camouflage
Flecktarn, a renowned German military camouflage pattern, was officially adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1990. Characterized by small, irregular spots in five distinct colors—dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige—Flecktarn utilizes a pattern of numerous dots and soft transitions between shades to efficiently break up the wearer’s outline in wooded landscapes, scrub environments, or amidst forest underbrush. Engineered specifically for European climates, particularly the temperate zone, Flecktarn endures as a standard issue among the German armed forces and remains popular with military and police personnel in various countries. The proven effectiveness of this camouflage pattern has inspired a range of adaptations and variations worldwide.
