Such design enables it to adjust dynamically to surrounding landscapes, taking on greener tones within forests or shifting to brown and beige hues in arid and desert areas—proving especially effective in Central and Eastern Europe during autumn or amongst dried vegetation. MultiCam has earned global acclaim and is utilized by many military organizations and special operations units. In 2010, the US Army officially adopted this camo pattern for troops deployed in Afghanistan, replacing the former Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).
