MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern engineered in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision, in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs), under the Objective Force Warrior program. Designed to deliver maximum versatility, MultiCam provides effective concealment across diverse landscapes and in shifting environmental conditions. The pattern integrates seven distinct colors, forming smooth gradients that merge tones of green, brown, and beige. Such design allows seamless adaptation to surrounding environments—blending with greens in woodland settings and shifting to browns and beiges in arid, desert locations. Within Central and Eastern European regions, MultiCam excels during autumn or amidst dried vegetation. The pattern has attained worldwide recognition, being employed by armed forces and special operations units globally. In 2010, the US Army officially selected MultiCam as the primary camouflage for troops deploying to Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Civilian availability has further enhanced MultiCam’s popularity among military enthusiasts and airsoft communities.
