The machete from Gerber is solidly built and makes a very good first impression. The materials used in its production are of high quality, and the whole thing looks very durable. The handle is ergonomically designed, fits perfectly in the hand, and provides a secure grip even during extended use. The construction of the machete inspires confidence - it is sturdy and great for outdoor work, like cutting branches or bushes. The only drawback I noticed is that the blade arrived rather dull. To fully utilize its potential, it definitely needs sharpening. However, after sharpening, it works brilliantly - it cuts without any problem and does its job perfectly.
A Bolo machete featuring Full Tang construction, meaning the blade tang extends through the entire handle. The blade is crafted from shatter-resistant 1050 high-carbon steel and finished with a black powder coating for corrosion resistance.
The curved blade design makes it ideal for chopping undergrowth and small branches. The low-profile flat grind provides excellent edge durability and allows for straightforward sharpening.
An ergonomically contoured handle made from plastic with a Gator Grip coating ensures a comfortable grip. A finger guard prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade. Non-slip texturing keeps the machete firmly in hand, even in wet environments, enhancing operational safety.
The handle includes a rear lanyard hole, fitted with a safety cable to help prevent accidental loss.
A robust nylon holster is included for safe and convenient carry.
