My wife is happy and that's the most important thing, maybe I'll finally convince her to more military styles. She says the jacket is warm and comfortable, and everyone is happy.
Maskpol Softshell SMD-01 Women's Sweatshirt - MAPA
Women's tactical softshell hoodie featuring panels crafted from uniform-grade fabric in MAPA camouflage. Perfect choice for survival expeditions, travel, ASG, and a variety of outdoor recreation. Thanks to its multi-layer design, the hoodie offers effective protection from wind and rain, eliminating the need for extra insulating layers.
Three-layer construction, reinforced with US-23 material
The softshell features a three-layer polyester laminate construction:
- an outer layer of impregnated fabric offering resistance to adverse weather
- a core PTFE Teflon membrane
- and an internal fleece lining providing insulation
Areas such as the collar, hood interior, pockets, and sleeves are reinforced with US-23 uniform fabric, crafted from a robust 50/50 blend of soft cotton and polyester. Reinforcement uses a Rip-Stop weave to ensure the material remains highly durable and resistant to abrasion.
uni-directional zipper, ventilation openings
A durable, uni-directional zipper secures the entire hoodie. The high collar seamlessly integrates with a hood equipped with drawstrings, offering enhanced protection for the head against cold and wind. To boost thermal regulation, ventilation openings are positioned beneath the armpits. Elastic edging reinforces the cuffs, while the lower hem features an adjustable elastic drawstring with a stopper, allowing for a tailored fit and effective wind protection.
two classic pockets
Featuring 2 classic side pockets secured with zippers, both pockets are lined with breathable mesh on the inside.
Velcro panels
Each sleeve is equipped with 2 large Velcro panels (hook-and-loop fasteners) designed for attaching various emblems, such as dystincje, national flags, unit insignia, or Morale Patches. A dedicated Velcro area for a name tag is positioned on the right chest.

MAPA camouflage
The MAPA camouflage pattern was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He is also the author of several publications, including "Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for Designing Military Camouflage" (Gdańsk 2015). The pattern’s innovative approach, supported by substantial theoretical and experimental evidence—such as computer analysis of thousands of terrain photographs—garnered significant interest from experts and military apparel manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage was introduced at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as the camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of gear and uniforms by Maskpol, a part of the Polish Armaments Group. The system was initially made for Territorial Defense Army personnel. However, the MAPA camo pattern was also evaluated as a prospective design for all branches of the Polish Armed Forces, potentially replacing the wz.93 camouflage. To date, the MAPA pattern has not been officially adopted by the Polish Army.
The main features of MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant
- 6 colors arranged in layers, reminiscent of map elevation contours
- colors tailored for deployment in Central European woodlands
- application of three-dimensional illusion and anamorphosis effects
- biomorphic forms to closely resemble natural vegetation
- bold contrasting details to replicate light flashes and shadows
- macro pattern that distorts the shape of the camouflaged figure
- color noise generated using a micro pattern
The MAPA pattern presents a compelling alternative to leading modern camouflage solutions like PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, or the Finnish M/05. In several aspects, it surpasses these patterns and more faithfully renders colors typical of Central European forests from late spring through early autumn.
