A MAPA B camouflage dump pouch crafted from robust 560 Cordura. Inside, two elastic magazine sleeves are provided. The pouch’s bottom is constructed from mesh, which aids in water drainage and accelerates drying. Quick content retrieval is made possible by a Velcro-secured flap with an integrated drawstring.
The pouch can be compactly folded and fastened with Velcro, or rolled up entirely when not in use. MOLLE/PALS attachment straps on the rear enable secure mounting to a tactical belt or vest.
MAPA camouflage was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current member of the academic staff at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, and author of the work Teoria dekonstrukcji komunikatu wizualnego. Narzędzia projektowania kamuflażu militarnego (Gdańsk 2015). The distinctive design, grounded in strong theoretical and experimental research—including extensive computer analysis of thousands of terrain photographs—has drawn attention from industry specialists and military apparel manufacturers. MAPA camouflage debuted in 2017 at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce, as the pattern for the Dromader gear and uniform system by Maskpol, a part of the Polish Armaments Group. Originally developed for Territorial Defense Force personnel, MAPA camouflage has also been identified as a potential replacement for the wz.93 pattern across the Polish Armed Forces. However, MAPA camouflage has not yet been officially adopted by the Polish military.
Main features of MAPA camouflage in the standard forest version:
- A palette of 6 colors arranged in layers that mimic topographical map contour lines,
- Color selection and optimization for operations in Central European woodlands,
- Implementation of a three-dimensional illusion and anamorphic effects,
- Biomorphic elements echoing natural vegetation shapes,
- High-contrast accents that reproduce light glares and shadow play,
- Macro patterns designed to break up and obscure the human silhouette,
- Micro patterns that replicate subtle color noise.
MAPA’s design stands out as a compelling alternative to top-tier modern camouflage options like PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, and the Finnish M/05. In certain aspects, MAPA surpasses these patterns, providing superior color matching to the hues of Central European forests during late spring to early autumn.
