I took them to the mountains as "lightweight" gloves. They worked well at 2-4 degrees. The design allows you to use touch screens, so you can use devices without taking off the gloves, which is also significant. At temperatures below zero, they are definitely too thin.
Mechanix Wear ColdWork FastFit Tactical Gloves - Coyote
Insulated gloves engineered for performance in low-temperature environments. Deliver effective protection against frost while also safeguarding hands from abrasions and cuts. Precision fit grants optimal grip control without impeding detailed tasks. This model is a reliable choice for survival expeditions, automotive workshop duties, DIY projects, as well as ASG or paintball activities.
Durable softshell, fleece lining
Constructed with Softshell material, the gloves offer water resistance, while soft fleece insulation preserves warmth inside without compromising mobility. Reinforced panels on the palm provide enhanced protection and improve resistance to abrasion.
Durable synthetic leather, touchscreen support
Synthetic leather is featured on the grip side, delivering exceptional durability and enabling precise handling. The thumb area is reinforced with robust Armortex plastic for extra protection. The construction of the grip side also permits easy use of touchscreen devices without the need to remove the gloves.
wide cuff, anatomical stitching, nylon loops
Designed with a wide entry opening, the model enables fast and comfortable glove donning. Elastic cuffs ensure a secure fit around the wrist. Stitching follows the anatomical contours of the hand, delivering an optimal fit. Integrated nylon hanging loops provide added functionality.
EN388-1111X and EN511-12X standards
The gloves are manufactured to meet the EN388 standard at level 1111X, ensuring mechanical hazard protection as follows:
- 1: abrasion resistance (rated 0–4)
- 1: blade cut resistance (rated 0–5)
- 1: tear resistance (rated 0–4)
- 1: puncture resistance (rated 0–4)
- X: TDM cut resistance – ISO 13997 method (rated A–F)
Compliance with EN511 at level 12X offers cold protection as detailed below:
- 1: convective cold resistance (rated 0–4)
- 2: contact cold resistance (rated 0–4)
- X: water penetration resistance (rated 0 or 1)
Scales applied in the EN388 and EN511 standards specify the degree of glove protection: 0 represents no protection, while the highest numbers (4, 5) reflect maximum resistance. For the water penetration scale: 0 means penetration occurs, 1 means no penetration occurs.
TDM testing (ISO 13997) uses a letter scale, with A signifying the lowest protection and F the highest.
The "X" symbol identifies parameters that were not tested or are not relevant.

Softshell is a type of material used in outdoor clothing that is characterized by its flexibility, breathability and high weather protection. Constructed of multi-layered fabric, softshell provides protection from wind and light rain, while providing freedom of movement and effective moisture control.
Armortex is a durable material that is highly resistant to abrasion, tearing and cutting. Its special synthetic fiber structure reinforces the areas most vulnerable to damage, and the special texture ensures better grip and a secure hold. It prevents the gloves from becoming wet in contact with water, oil or other liquids.

Recommended gloves. The inner seams are well smoothed – on a scale of 1–10, I rate their perceptibility at 2. They fit well on the hand, but it’s worth measuring them carefully before buying. For my son, for autumn and light winter (up to -5°C), they work great. Excellent.
-
The gloves are generally okay, but they are not very warm and not very grippy, meaning the material inside the hand is slippery, so they're not the best for driving a car.
-
Touch works very well on touch screens with these gloves, they are comfortable and it is possible to operate the buttons on the car steering wheel precisely. Unfortunately, that's where their advantages end, because they are NOT suitable for winter! Even at around -2°C, your hands get cold and they get wet very quickly—it's enough to grab even dry snow and after 3-5 minutes they are already soaked ;( I definitely recommend paying extra for the Mechanix Wear ColdWork FastFit Plus - Covert model for about 199 PLN, because those protect much better from the cold (up to around -5°C they are fine) and from getting wet, although they are also not perfect in terms of permeability ;(
-
Yesterday I wore them for a longer time and they really do not protect against the cold. They are simply cold, my fingers and whole hands were freezing and it was only -7 degrees. They are not suitable for winter.
-
Super fit. We'll see how they perform at the seaside when I go for a long walk with a metal detector. They seem very thin and delicate. At first unboxing, they're fine. I put them on frozen hands and they might work.
-
The gloves are quite comfortable, however, I don't think they keep hands warm in subzero temperatures. They are definitely not suitable for riding a bike in minus degrees.
-
They are not suitable for winter at all, for some reason the fingertips get extremely cold in them, even worse than without gloves. I even tried wearing regular cotton gloves underneath and still the fingertips froze badly, even though after taking off the Mechanix gloves just the thin cotton ones were 100% enough. I have the impression that the gloves literally cool the fingertips.
-
I use them during outdoor physical activities. Just right for temperatures of 0-5°C, they also work in subzero temperatures as long as you keep moving. Very convenient touchscreen operation. They dry sweat fairly quickly.
-
Even in positive temperatures, it is cold on the hands, so I won't even mention that it's even more of a disaster in subzero temperatures. I do not recommend it, it's a waste of money to buy just because of the brand.
-
I really liked the gloves. The workmanship is at a high level. I chose the same size as usual, XL, and everything fits perfectly. This is the first time I have had Mechanix brand gloves, and I am completely satisfied with them.
-
I bought these gloves in tan, size M, as a birthday present for my brother and he said they fit great and are very warm. The recent freezing nights were no problem for him. He wears them while driving in winter. I also plan to buy a pair in size L for myself. The gloves are well-made and provide good protection against rain. I wouldn't recommend them for very heavy-duty work, but at this price, they're definitely a good purchase.
-
I own classic Mechanix gloves, but these are additionally slightly insulated, which makes them a bit warmer. Size M matches that of my other Mechanix gloves, which makes me very happy. Due to the thin insulation, they are not suitable for severe frost, but they will be perfect for cooler days in spring or autumn. The gloves are solidly made and the price is attractive, so I can recommend them as a successful purchase.
-
Small, tight (the sizing is understated). Poor protection against the cold. Supposedly such a great brand, but this model is a shot in the foot. I do not recommend... unless it's for 50 PLN ;)

I have several pairs of Mechanix gloves. All are well made, comfortable, don't hold their size, and soak up water like crazy. These particular ones go with me to the shooting range in winter and work well there because they are warm.
