The gloves have not been tested yet, but at first glance, it is already clear that the workmanship is of the highest quality. The tightening strap works very well, limiting moisture access and protecting the wrists from cold and injury.
Mechanix Wear ColdWork Peak Tactical Gloves - Black/Grey
Winter gloves in Black/Grey, featuring advanced PrimaLoft Gold insulation and a waterproof barrier to ensure hands remain dry during tasks in wet environments. Delivers effective protection against cold while guarding hands from abrasions and cuts.
PrimaLoft Gold insulation, softshell material
Designed to provide reliable protection against cold, the gloves also safeguard hands from abrasions and cuts. The back is constructed with softshell fabric, ensuring effective defense against wind and moisture. Featuring PrimaLoft 100g Gold synthetic insulation within, the interior guarantees outstanding insulation and thermal comfort even in harsh weather conditions.
Armortex reinforcements and touchscreen compatibility
The palm area is lined with Armortex, an exceptionally robust material ensuring excellent grip. Reinforcements made from Armortex are strategically placed on the upper part of the gloves, extending over the thumb and fingertips for added protection. A 5 mm layer of protective padding shields the knuckles from potential injuries. Enhanced functionality allows for touchscreen operation, so removing gloves during tasks is unnecessary.
Extended cuffs, snap buckle
Extended cuffs are integrated into the design, effectively blocking cold air from penetrating the gloves. The cuffs offer a secure fit around the wrist due to the inclusion of drawstrings. A further benefit includes a snap buckle enabling the gloves to be connected together, greatly simplifying transport and storage.
EN388-3122XP and EN511-221 standards
Gloves achieve the protective standard EN388 at level 3122XP for mechanical hazard resistance, which includes:
- 3: abrasion resistance (scale 0–4)
- 1: cut resistance (scale 0–5)
- 2: tear resistance (scale 0–4)
- 2: puncture resistance (scale 0–4)
- X: cut resistance – TDM method (ISO 13997) (scale A–F)
- P: impact protection (test successfully completed)
Protection against cold is compliant with the EN511 standard at level 221, which covers:
- 2: resistance to convective cold (scale 0–4)
- 2: resistance to contact cold (scale 0–4)
- 1: resistance to water penetration (0 or 1)
Scales under EN388 and EN511 standards indicate the glove's protection level: a value of 0 means no protection and higher values (4, 5) represent the greatest resistance. For water penetration, 0 indicates penetration, while 1 means no penetration.
The symbol X signifies an untested or non-applicable parameter. The symbol P confirms the glove fulfills the criteria for impact protection.

Softshell is a type of material used in outdoor clothing that is characterized by its flexibility, breathability and high weather protection. Constructed of multi-layered fabric, softshell provides protection from wind and light rain, while providing freedom of movement and effective moisture control.
PrimaLoft is a synthetic microfiber insulation material developed in the 1980s for the US military. It is composed of properly formed polyester microfibers that trap air inside, creating an insulating barrier with high compression capabilities. It features good water repellency (retains 96% of its properties when wet), windproofness, breathability and anti-allergenic properties.
Armortex is a durable material that is highly resistant to abrasion, tearing and cutting. Its special synthetic fiber structure reinforces the areas most vulnerable to damage, and the special texture ensures better grip and a secure hold. It prevents the gloves from becoming wet in contact with water, oil or other liquids.

Mechanix gloves, as usual from this manufacturer, are of very good quality. At first glance you can see that they are durable. Slightly stiff when bending fingers. The size chart here is not entirely accurate (hence 4 stars) - I ordered too large (but they will be perfect as a gift), so I ordered a smaller pair and these are OK.

Good quality gloves, warm and comfortable. These gloves effectively protect against moisture and frost. The Armortrex lining really works – no tool slips out of your hands anymore. They don't limit your sense of touch too much, which is very important to me. I recommend them to everyone, great product.

This is yet another model in my Mechanix collection. This company simply makes excellent gloves. This model is very warm and provides solid protection against impacts and sharp materials. It’s a typical workhorse for tough tasks in severe frost, but it's also suitable for a walk in the woods or a mountain trip. The long “cuff” ensures that no wind or snow can get under the sleeve. Grip is, of course, poor, but this model is simply thick and armored—it serves other purposes. I recommend it if you don't need to perform tasks that require any special precision in these gloves.

This is already my fourth model of Mechanix gloves, and just like with the others, I am very satisfied. Warm, solid (with several layers of overlapping reinforcements), and they don’t get wet. Much stiffer than typical winter gloves, so you have to use a bit more force to bend your fingers. I recommend them.

Big plus for water resistance, suitable for electric scooter use up to 0 degrees; hands stay warm. Good for work, though for tasks requiring precision they're unfortunately too thick. You could say it's a trade-off, though at this price I'd like everything at once. If hand protection is your priority, I recommend them; if you want to perform precise tasks in low temperatures, it's better to look for another model.

Big plus for water resistance. However, in terms of warmth, at -10 degrees without moving your hands/fingers, your fingertips freeze. When working (moving your hand/bending fingers) in these gloves at that temperature, they're okay, but for a walk with a dog they aren’t suitable (unless it's warmer—up to a maximum of -5 degrees). To sum up, they're just "okay" for the price, and given the brand, I expected more.
-
Powerful windproof and waterproof gloves. They are quite thick and not very flexible, but at least your hands stay warm. Well made, they should last a long time. Regarding touchscreen functionality: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In any case, the grip is solid, nothing slips out. They also have reinforcements, so all pluses.

Perfect for biking. Great quality. As usual, fast and trouble-free delivery. The best store on the entire internet. Top-quality goods. You have never let me down. Best regards.
-
The gloves are quite thick and warm, in my opinion resistant to water and waterproof. Due to their thickness, they reduce grip precision. Cuff with adjustable fit. Another great pair of Mechanix gloves. Of course, the ability to operate touch screens comes as standard. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I recommend them.
-
Great gloves for cold days. In very low temperatures they might not be warm enough. They don't soak through too quickly. They fit very well and feel pleasant to the touch. The tightening strap works really well. The clip to keep them together is a nice touch. Fast shipping and high-level service. Recommended.
-
The gloves are really cool, warm and sturdy, perfect for winter. I am very satisfied with mine, though they're not tactical and you can forget about fine motor skills while wearing them, but you can still shoot an AK or change magazines in them—just loading is easier without gloves :).
-
Solid winter gloves, very warm. Due to their thickness, precision is very limited but who does precise work in the cold??? The cuff holds nicely, plus for the ability to use touch screens. Cut resistance is great. I recommend!
-
Warm, waterproof (seriously, they don't let in any water—even standing water, not just rain), durable, knife cuts don't leave any marks, they grip the hand firmly, the grip is pretty good, though not as much as regular rubber 'vampire' gloves. Due to their thickness, precision is very limited; that's their only downside—but that's the trade-off.
-
Very warm and comfortable gloves, perfect for the cold. Handling weapons with them is definitely quite problematic, but for working with equipment they perform excellently.
