Mechanix Wear M-Pact 2 Tactical Gloves - Covert Black

M-Pact 2 - gloves designed as an enhanced and reinforced variant of the M-Pact line, offering increased durability for use in extremely challenging environments. Engineered for the needs of professional soldiers and elite special forces operatives. Mechanix Wear gloves represent an excellent option for those seeking lightweight, comfortable hand protection with effective grip and reliable safety.

Armotex fabric, synthetic leather, and TrekDry

On the grip side, the model features a combination of Armortex® fabric and synthetic leather to enhance hand traction and minimize slipping on smooth terrains. Additional layers of synthetic leather reinforce the inner seams along the four fingers and the wrist area. The top section of the gloves incorporates TrekDry material, renowned for its lightweight and breathable properties, effectively limiting skin moisture.

Strong, adjustable clasp made of TPR

Securing the cuff is achieved with a TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber per EN 13594) strap equipped with Velcro fastening.

EVA foam, TPR panels, D30 inserts

A high-density EVA foam layer delivers palm and wrist protection on the extended cuff. Each of the four fingers is equipped with rugged TPR panels (English: Thermal Plastic Rubber—thermoplastic rubber that meets the EN 13594 standard), divided into three sections by flexible gaps to enhance finger dexterity. On the underside, D3O inserts help dissipate impact energy and vibration around the palm area. Thanks to this design, hands are shielded from abrasion and impacts, making these gloves ideal for use inside structures and during CQB operations.

Protection standard EN388-2111XP

The gloves are certified to the protective standard EN388 with a rating of 2111XP for mechanical hazard resistance, indicating the following levels:

  • 2: resistance to abrasion (rated from 0–4)
  • 1: resistance to cuts (rated from 0–5)
  • 1: resistance to tearing (rated from 0–4)
  • 1: resistance to puncturing (rated from 0–4)
  • X: cut resistance according to the TDM test (ISO 13997) (rated from A–F)
  • P: passed the impact protection assessment

The rating system of the EN388 standard outlines the protection level of gloves: 0 denotes the absence of protection, whereas the highest ratings (4, 5) signify optimal resistance.

In testing by the TDM method (ISO 13997), letter codes are employed, where A corresponds to the minimum protection level and F to the maximum.

The X symbol signifies that a specific parameter has not been tested or does not apply. The P symbol shows compliance with the impact protection requirement.

The workmanship is of a high standard. The negatives are definitely the cut, as it makes the glove look like a paddle/board, and the gun feel is weak in them. On the plus side, definitely the external protectors; they would be perfect for airsoft if they were better fitted and if they came in a color other than black, which is visible in the forest from a kilometer away ;)

Good fit for the size. The quality of the materials and workmanship is superb. Durability looks promising after a short but very intense use. I used them during a full day Shotgun IPSC competition on a hot summer day – it wasn't uncomfortable, they did the job. They protect the hand perfectly against injuries.

Probably my favorite gloves from Mechanix, I use them for fencing sparring, they work very well, protect the hands well, and do not restrict movement or catch on anything. I've tried lots of other gloves, but these are definitely the best.

Gloves purchased a year ago. They wore out and the seams came apart after just a few uses, replaced under warranty with new ones. Unfortunately, the second pair also did not prove reliable. For such a price, they should last longer. Waste of money, do not recommend.

Comfortable, solid gloves. A big plus is the rubber coating on the inner part of the glove, which gives them excellent grip. I recommend them.

Very warm and durable gloves, ideal for bushcraft expeditions, but due to the reinforcements you need to choose a larger size. I recommend.

Thicker than the original M-Pact but also protect a larger area of the hand, quite comfortable, do not restrict movement, well ventilated. As for durability, it's hard to say for now, they haven't worn through yet but a few stitches have come loose. The main photo shows the older version.

I gave five stars because the gloves meet my expectations. The workmanship is good, and I expect about a year of intensive use (that's how long my M-Pact 3s lasted). The description is also accurate with one exception – in my opinion, touch screen use is poor.
