Previously, I tried to fit it to the original military surplus mug, but it didn't sit as well as it does on the dedicated MFH product. If you have this mug model, the lid is a must-have purchase – it turns it into a small, functional pot.

A small, lightweight lid designed for the American military mug. I was looking for a matching lid for my original US steel cup, which I’ve been using for a long time and has often been used over a campfire. I didn’t want to get rid of it, so I didn’t go for an entirely new set. The MFH lid, being not an original US Army product, has a slightly different shape and doesn’t fit perfectly or tightly onto my cup. I managed to correct this by carefully bending the edges of both the cup and the lid with pliers, so they would fit better together. Now it does its job – I cover the cup when boiling water, which makes it boil faster and prevents ash from getting inside.

A set consisting of an MFH cup and MFH lid combined with a 1l Nalgene Oasis bottle installed in an M-Tac pouch stole my heart. This is the best set I have had so far. I highly recommend such a kit.

Unfortunately, the lid is not compatible with the original US Army cup. It’s too small—I had to bend the edges to make it fit somewhat, but even then it's no good. It's a pity there's no information that it doesn't fit the original.

20 zlotys for a lid seems like a lot, but it’s worth it; the way it attaches is very well designed. It is slightly smaller than the cup so it fits with a little force, but holds very well, allowing you to pull the cup from the fire by the lid like a handle, which is very useful when the cup handle is hot (which happens often when boiling water).
