Flecktarn represents a traditional German military camouflage, officially adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1990. Characterized by the use of five colors—typically dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige—in small, irregular spots, the pattern effectively breaks up the outline of the wearer. The dense distribution of spots and the blurred transitions between colors enable Flecktarn to mask the user’s silhouette efficiently in wooded terrain, among bushes, or on the forest floor.
