Mil-Tec Standard Catalytic Heater - Silver

Designed for use during cold conditions, the catalytic heater serves to provide warmth to the body. Acting as a reliable and effective heat source, it is ideal for mountain expeditions or outdoor walks. Optimal performance is achieved when stored in a pocket close to the chest or inserted into gloves for hand warmth. Additionally, the heater is suitable for drying out shoes or gloves.

 

Durable metal housing, fuel tank

Constructed from robust steel with a polished finish, the heater’s casing ensures lasting durability. Housed within the lower section, the fuel tank incorporates a hygroscopic fabric liner, effectively preventing any leakage.

Flameless burner, safe use

Fuel should be added via the opening at the top, such as by using lighter fluid. A flameless burner sits beneath a cap that can be removed as needed. Once refilled, briefly heat the catalytic element; reliable warmth is then provided for approximately 5–8 hours.

Offering 100% safety, high efficiency, and smokeless operation, the device neutralizes any gases produced through the catalyst. Heat results from the combustion of fuel vapors within the catalytic element.

    I do not recommend it! It keeps shutting off after 0.5-1 hour of work (half a fuel tank)... I installed a new wick (I thought it would help) and nothing changed. Sad...

    The heater works. I used universal kerosene. I lit the wick with a lighter for literally 1-2 seconds, and that was enough for the heater to warm up. So I recommend it. I also have a Mil-Tec Premium heater and Zippo brand heaters. The rated heater, although the cheapest, is also good.

    Everything seems fine, but can someone tell me how do I know how much extraction gasoline to pour? Overall, the heater meets its criteria for this price.

    The heater works as it should. You have to practice a bit to learn how to light it properly and quickly. It heats for quite a long time and provides thermal comfort. Useful for spending the night outdoors on cold days. I recommend it.
