A piece of spade. Heavy, solid, handy. No wonder they used similar ones 80 years ago in the trenches. One note: it is completely blunt, you need to sharpen it (which is not a flaw, just a feature of a new product).

Great entrenching tool!!! I bought two of them to jump from 30 meters into icy water while holding these tools!!! Very good product, I threw it at everything and it didn't break... plus, I fried food on it. It can also handle trees and as for digging, there's really nothing to discuss.

I recommend it. I bought it for a stationary camping trip, and now it travels with me in the car all the time and helps out in winter. I just sharpened it so it would cut roots better.

I bought it for fieldwork with a detector, fits perfectly in the case. Just right for digging, although, as with all entrenching tools, the small size sometimes helps and sometimes is a drawback. After purchasing, I had it sharpened; after that, it cuts roots as it should.

A classic, you simply have to have it in the set, I recommend it.
