The carabiner is quite large, which doesn't bother me at all. I bought it with the intention of attaching extra things to my backpack. The Slide Lock latches on both sides prevent accidental opening. I think this carabiner works great and I can honestly recommend it.

The base is a great and simple lock. The carabiners from this company are iconic and expensive, even very. But, buy one and you will see. I've been using the black ones for a very long time, and the durability of the paint on an item that is constantly being rubbed is surprising, incredible. Overall, it's irrelevant for functionality, but it also matters.
