Njord Gramr sword

Inspired by archaeological discoveries from Scandinavia, this decorative sword reflects designs from the early Middle Ages, known as the Viking Age. Crafted from damascus steel, the blade showcases a distinctive pattern created by the fusion of multiple layers of various steel types.

Forged from damascus steel (pattern welded), the blade is composed of multiple layers of high-carbon spring steel 1095 and carbon steel 15N20. It features a distal taper towards the point, while a fuller running nearly the full length of the blade reduces overall weight. The hilt surface is treated to reveal the distinctive forged damask pattern.

Designed for optimal comfort, the handle features an ergonomic shape and is crafted from rosewood, a material known for exceptional durability and high density. A protective finish of beeswax and linseed oil shields the wood from moisture. The weighted tip at the pommel enhances the overall balance and handling of the sword. Reliable hand protection comes from a double-edged steel guard, reflecting the classic design elements of swords from this historical era.
