The cleaver is ok. The inscription on the handle is a bit tacky, the handle's craftsmanship also leaves a bit to be desired. You can work on it with sandpaper. The blade itself looks interesting. It chops tenderloin for tartare nicely.

Nice, atmospheric kitchen knife. The cutting edge needed some work. It was unevenly sharpened, with different angles on each side (either I’m just lucky to get "made in USA" products like this, or it’s just the standard, unfortunately). It’s also worth sanding and impregnating the handle. The steel rusts, so it always needs to be dried thoroughly; a bit of oil won’t hurt either. If you like this kind of vibe, I recommend it.

First impression very positive, the cleaver seems solid. Initially sharpened, but for more precise tasks, an extra grind will be useful. I confirm the opinions about the somewhat rough handle, in my case one half was completely dry - thoroughly wiping it with a cloth and lemon oil helped.

A great knife made of 1095 steel, which already says something. It sharpens quickly and after some fine-tuning, it shaves hair. The workmanship is a bit rough, but the knife has an amazing vibe. The price to quality ratio (for Polish standards) is very good. I definitely recommend it.

I bought two pieces; one is perfectly made and the other is supposedly sharp but the finishing leaves much to be desired. The handle is poorly finished, the stamps on the blade are barely visible, but overall, I'm satisfied. I definitely recommend it.

Good equipment. The cleaver fits very well in the hand and is well-balanced. It comes pre-sharpened, enough for chopping, but for cutting you can sharpen it yourself. I recommend it!

I got a perfect piece, even grinds, nice "waffle" and a clear "mark", sharp enough to use straight out of the box. As for Ontario, the handle is beautifully finished "raw"; for me as a fan, that's OK because it's a good grip, but for some people it might need sandpaper because it's too rough, and over nights it absorbs half a glass of linseed oil. As you can see from the rivets, this is one of the knives with a partial tang, but given its purpose, the material savings are understandable.

I have 6 pieces of various models from the Old Hickory series and EVERY one is poorly made. The cutting edge grinds are crooked and irregular, the handles have cracks in the wood by the rivets or flaws in the structure, and the signatures on the blades and handles are a lottery—sometimes visible, sometimes not. The craftsmen finishing these knife blanks are sloppy workers. The description of these knives should not mention solid workmanship. Knives purchased over several years and from various sources, so the opinion is objective. Photo of this knife.

A 1095 steel kitchen knife at this price is quite well made, although for peace of mind I lacquered the handle myself.
