Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first No. 08 folding knife, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which remains a hallmark of the brand to this day. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also became part of the collections of MoMA in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests, and waste is used to heat the facility. Well-known users included Pablo Picasso, who used an Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves became a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French way of life.

    Excellent oil, great quality. It's worth oiling the blade from time to time because residue appears. After use, you can see the difference - the blade shines and has a beautiful color.

    Oil that brilliantly preserves my knives. The carbon steel blades are finally well protected, and there is no problem with the oil being able to come into contact with food. Just be careful when carrying it in a backpack, as the packaging is made of thin metal and could be crushed.

    Hello. This is already the second package of this oil. It works great. It's not cheap but I trust dedicated products. Knowing life, you can replace this oil with something cheaper with varying results. However, I recommend giving it a try.
