A medium-sized lightweight folding knife featuring a blade length of 85 mm. The blade is crafted from 12C27 Sandvik stainless steel with a semi-matte finish and sports a Clip-Point profile. Thanks to the full flat grind and slender blade construction, outstanding cutting performance is achieved.

Opening the knife is made possible by a notch on the blade, while the Virobloc lock secures the blade in place once deployed. This robust steel ring, located on the handle at the blade’s pivot, must be rotated slightly after opening to block the slot in the handle, effectively preventing unintended blade movement. The mechanism also averts accidental opening when the knife is closed.

The handle is ergonomically crafted from oak wood and showcases carvings of a hare in a meadow, offering both a secure hold and aesthetic appeal. Additional customization is possible, as the handle may be textured, carved, or stained in any desired color. The wooden body also allows for the addition of a hole at the end, suitable for attaching a lanyard or securing cord.

Opinel

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

Who hasn't dreamed of a pocket knife with a teddy bear from the Animalia series? Now you can have one :) We're adding to our collection and already have a considerable number of knives with animals. Perfect as a gift; fits in your pocket; great for fishing or for opening a refreshing drink outdoors on warm days ;) (thanks to the blade-locking ring). As always, outstanding quality straight from France.

If you don't have it yet, it's worth adding another item to your animalia series collection. The pocket knife is very sharp and has an original handle. Perfect for EDC. I recommend it to fans of this company and not only to them.

Another item for the animalia series collection. Like every Opinel: very sharp. Perfect size to carry in your pocket. An additional advantage of this INOX series (if you miss something and forget to take care of it, it won't corrode).

A very classic and atmospheric knife. The natural wood with a subtle pattern looks great and significantly enhances the visual appeal. The thin blade cuts very well. I recommend it.

The knife looks lovely and is sharp, although for me it mostly sits on my desk and looks nice. Since the blade is relatively thin, even with ordinary package opening some chips can appear on the blade. In my opinion, it's good for opening packages, letters, and looking good.

For me, it's perfect. For mushroom picking, everyday use, for the forest. From now on I always keep it with me instead of a less handy Mora. Big plus for the ability to lock the blade - it makes more precise work easier.

The knife is perfect for preparing meals in the outdoors. The steel is extremely sharp, like a razor, stays sharp for a long time, and sharpens quickly. I recommend it because the price is not too high.

Opinel no. 8 is a classic among widely understood EDC knives. Very lightweight, small, with a very thin blade that gives amazing sharpness even without special sharpening skills. In addition, this version looks great—in real life, the wood is a bit darker than in the photos. My model is quite hard to open, but that's the charm of Opinels.

The Opinel knife itself is already quite a treat, and in this version, it is a true work of art! Not only does it work as it should—that is, it's sharp and solid—but it also looks beautiful.

Elegant, very light, sharp as a razor. The pattern is distinct, about 1 mm deep—it’s not just a crude burn but a deep, strong carved design. I think it looks better in person than in the photo. I believe it’s a gift worth recommending, especially since there is a larger selection of patterns on the website.

Opinel is a brand I completely trust and have never been disappointed by. This model also turned out to be a great choice. It is very stylish, really well made, and as a climbing enthusiast I found the image of the chamois to be a definite advantage. Like every knife of this brand, it is solidly sharpened and also lightweight. I recommend it!

A classic Opinel, additionally enhanced with a pattern on the handle. This adds a lot of charm and atmosphere. A very interesting option also as a gift. Interesting locking mechanism. I recommend it.

Compared to the standard Opinel, it seems to differ very little. The oak wood in this case, and its decoration, look really great. The knife is ideal as a gift. However, it seems to me that when opening and locking it is much less stiff compared to the beechwood Opinel.

Opinel is a classic, but the Animalia series versions are great as gifts for hunting enthusiasts or mountain hikers. I recommend it.
