We have legendary Victorinox pocket knives, all-purpose Moraknife knives, but the classic Opinel is essential and irreplaceable on trips, camping, etc. The not too thick blade and flat-ground edge give it excellent cutting properties. When preparing a meal, slicing ingredients is very pleasant. The knife arrives very sharp. I recommend it!
Opinel No.8 INOX Folding Knife
A medium-sized, remarkably lightweight folding knife featuring a lockable 8.5 cm blade. A timeless model from a renowned French maker with a tradition spanning over a century. The blade, crafted in Clip-Point style from stainless steel, is polished to a semi-matte sheen. Boasting a flat grind nearly to zero, together with a slender blade profile, the knife delivers superior cutting efficiency.
Simple and reliable Virobloc locking mechanism
In the open state, the blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, a mechanism patented in 1955. A steel ring fitted around the handle at the blade’s pivot point serves as the lock. Once the knife is opened, rotate the ring a few degrees until it covers the slot on the blade in the handle, effectively immobilizing the blade. The mechanism also guards against accidental opening when the knife is folded. Easy blade deployment is possible via a notch on the blade, reminiscent of those found on Victorinox pocket knives.
Contoured handle made of beech wood
Forged from beech wood, the handle offers an ergonomic design for a secure and comfortable grip. The natural warmth of the wood enhances handling, even in challenging conditions. Modifying the handle is straightforward—drilling a hole at the rear for a safety lanyard is a common upgrade. Customization options include adding personalized textures, carvings, or staining the wood to your preferred hue.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

Opinel No.8 INOX is a simple, legendary utility knife, which works best for everyday tasks, trips, and light outdoor activities. It has minimalism in construction, but maximum functionality.
-
A classic among classics, the Opinel 8 stainless steel, 'standard' version, meaning a handle made from French beech. Excellent for trips, camping, kitchen use, but also for all other lighter knife tasks.
-
Classic. Factory very sharp. Number 8 is in my opinion the optimal size, and stainless steel will be more practical than carbon steel - especially in kitchen and food applications.
-
A model of a penknife that I always have in my backpack or in my pocket. It's indispensable for small and quick tasks. Together with the Victorinox, they complement each other perfectly.
-
Revelation, a class of its own, a legend in fact, the knife I use most often, mainly for picking mushrooms or for culinary purposes at the campsite. Compact, lightweight, with a simple lock - nothing to break, and it doesn't cost a fortune.
-
Great knife, but only for light tasks such as cutting a cord, whittling a stick, or kitchen work at camp. This knife is very handy, lightweight, and sharp. It has an effective lock, which unfortunately sometimes tends to get 'stuck'. A universal knife worth recommending, always good to have at hand. However, besides this one, you should also have something bigger and more durable for heavier camp or bushcraft tasks.
-
I bought it for my wife as a gift because she used to go mushroom picking with a butter knife. She is very satisfied. The knife has the perfect length and weight. Additionally, it looks nice. I recommend it!!!
-
A classic. Factory-made, very sharp. In my opinion, number 8 is the optimal size, and stainless steel will be more practical than carbon steel – especially for kitchen and food-related uses.
-
The knife meets my expectations 100%. It's small and foldable, so it doesn't take up much space. It's also very lightweight, which is why I always carry it in my waist pouch. Well made, looks neat and nice.
-
I have a few of these knives in my collection, I've also given many to friends, and everyone is satisfied. Simple construction, well-thought-out lock, easy-to-sharpen blade, and a timeless look are the qualities of this product. I RECOMMEND it.
-
A very friendly model for individual modification. With minimal effort, you can achieve interesting results. The outcome is a unique knife for yourself or as a gift. Cool, harmless hobby. Warning – it's addictive. I recommend it to everyone. And if something doesn't work out, just try again.

I just bought a second one, which is the best recommendation. A solid, precisely made knife. Timeless design. The locking ring works smoothly and easily. Very sharp. I recommend modifying the handle. If you gently sand the handle so you have better access to the folded blade, opening it is much easier when the wood absorbs water. Otherwise, with a wet knife, you might be surprised at how hard it is to open the blade. Honestly, such a modification is almost essential. I think longtime Opinel users know about this. Order fulfillment was fast and flawless. I recommend the shop.

The Opinel 09 folding knife, a classic, another one in my collection, handy and sharp. Very good price to quality ratio. Very good and lightweight. You don’t feel it in your pocket. Must have in your EDC kit.

Probably a legend, so I decided to buy it too. Very nicely made. Super light and comfortable to use. Plus, you can add a dedicated spoon or fork, which is great for camping.
