Instead of a full cummerbund, elastic side straps with integrated internal pockets are incorporated. The plate bags lack both Molle webbing and additional padding, which further decreases overall weight.
Two comfort pads sewn onto the shoulder straps help distribute the load. Strap length can be adjusted via Velcro, ensuring the vest can be tailored for an optimal fit.
The front section features two buckles compatible with a front panel or a Chest Rig component. At the rear, a Velcro area and supplemental Molle webbing are included, along with two sliders at the sides for attaching ZIP-ON panels.

Officially selected in 2010 by the US Army for troops deployed in Afghanistan, it replaced the former Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).
