Constructed with a top layer of rugged 1000D Cordura, the mat withstands abrasions and demanding field conditions. The core consists of closed-cell elastic foam (4 mm), which delivers excellent insulation from the cold. On the underside, a waterproof rubber coating ensures superior grip.

This is truly an exceptional mat. I often go out into nature, fishing or having a barbecue, and I always take it with me. I don't regret this purchase at all. When fishing, I even lay it on mud, and it hardly gets dirty, dries very quickly, and insulates perfectly. I also use it to fan the charcoal and nothing happens to it, it doesn't deform. The material is really unique. I definitely recommend it, it's worth spending money on!

I currently only have the L Jääkäri model. I can definitely recommend the mat, even if you don't use it with a backpack. I use it for everything as a base. I haven't taken it outside and I don't really plan to. For sitting, I use a larger mat from Savotta, which in my opinion is more functional if you put the dirty side down. The smaller version also does its job well. I'm considering buying another one.

I bought this product for my Savotta Jaakari S backpack to avoid situations where objects I'm carrying would press into my back, instead of using it solely as a seat pad. For my purpose, the pad fits perfectly in the Savotta Jaakari S and does not significantly increase its weight. As with all Savotta products, the workmanship is of a very high standard and the price is appropriate.
