Schrade Divergent Folding Knife - Black

A folding knife with a Modified Drop-Point blade profile and a length of 75 mm, made of high-quality AUS-8 stainless steel. The blade has a satin finish. The handle features a Pivot Lock and G10 laminate scales. The design gives it a lightweight and dynamic character, facilitating precise blade control and comfortable everyday carry.

AUS-8 stainless steel

The knife blade is made of AUS-8 stainless steel, which contains chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and nickel, ensuring good corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of sharpening.

blade with a modified drop-point profile

The blade features a Modified Drop-Point profile, characterized by a sturdy tip, easy sharpening, and good cutting performance. The blade is 75 mm long and 3 mm thick. The blade features a hollow grind, which improves cutting performance and allows for clean, smooth cuts. The blade has been finished with a satin finish, giving it a semi-matte appearance.

G10 laminate handle scales

The scales of the ergonomically contoured handle are made of black G10 laminate, which is resistant to mechanical damage and external factors.

Pivot Lock, double-sided thumb stud

The knife is opened using a thumb stud on both sides, which allows for quick one-handed deployment. The opening process has been streamlined through the use of the Ultra-Glide system, which is based on ball bearings.

The Pivot Lock mechanism stabilizes the blade, securing the blade in the open position and preventing it from accidentally closing. The mechanism’s design ensures reliable operation and comfortable handling.

spring steel clip

Comfortable everyday carry is ensured by a spring-loaded steel clip in the tip-up position, which allows the knife to be easily attached to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip is mounted on the right side.

AUS-8 feature
AUS-8
AUS-8 is a Japanese stainless steel, equivalent to 440B steel, characterized by a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (0.7-0.75%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13-14.5%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Vanadium additives (up to 0.26%) improve the homogeneity of the steel's crystal structure and increase the blade's resistance to abrasion. The steel also contains molybdenum (0.1-0.3%), manganese (0.5%), silicon (0.4-1%), and nickel (0.49%). After proper heat treatment, AUS-8 steel achieves a hardness of 58-60 HRC, making it a solid material with good cutting properties and durability. The steel is widely used in mid-range knives, mainly produced in Japan and Taiwan, such as the popular Ontario RAT 1.
System Ultra Glide feature
System Ultra Glide
Ultra-Glide system used in Schrade knives is a ball bearing-based opening mechanism designed to ensure smooth, light, and quick one-handed blade deployment. This solution minimizes the resistance of the mechanism, making the blade movement smooth, precise, and much more pleasant than in designs without bearings. Ultra-Glide significantly facilitates knife operation by reducing the effort required to open it, making it particularly practical in EDC knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
