Schrade Inert Folding Knife - Blue

A folding knife with a Wharncliffe-profile blade measuring 82.5 mm in length, crafted from high-quality AUS-10 stainless steel. The slim, straight lines of the design and its minimalist form facilitate precise blade control and smooth cutting.

The model was designed with everyday carry (EDC) in mind, where compact dimensions, low weight, and quick access to the tool are essential. The flat, simplified handle design makes it easy to carry the knife.

high-quality AUS-10 stainless steel

The knife blade is made of high-quality B AUS-10B stainless steel. The carbon content ensures high hardness, while the chromium guarantees excellent resistance to corrosion and wear. The steel also contains manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, which affect its hardenability, impact strength, elasticity, and machinability, improving structural stability and maintaining mechanical properties.

Wharncliffe blade, jimping, satin finish

This model features a Wharncliffe-profile blade, which has been finished with a satin finish. This process creates parallel micro-scratches on the blade’s surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance.

Hollow grind improves cutting performance, allowing for clean and smooth cuts. The spine of the blade features jimping, which enhances control when applying pressure with the thumb.

aluminium handle with ergonomic profile

The blue handle is made of aluminum, which keeps the weight low while maintaining good resistance to mechanical damage. The surface features a textured finish with fine grooves that improve grip and control during use.

The slim, flat design makes it easy to carry the knife in a pocket. The ergonomic profile supports a natural hand position, and additional grooves on the back of the handle increase grip stability and control over the tool while working.

liner lock, flipper, Ultra-Glide system

The knife is opened using a flipper, which allows for quick one-handed deployment. In the open position, the flipper acts as a small cross guard that effectively prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade. The opening process has been streamlined through the use of the Ultra-Glide opening assist system, which is based on ball bearings.

Blade stabilization is provided by the Liner Lock, which secures the blade in the open position and prevents it from accidentally closing. The mechanism’s design ensures reliable operation and comfortable handling.

spring clip, lanyard hole

The model is equipped with a spring-loaded clip that allows you to conveniently carry the knife in your pocket or as an accouterment, ensuring quick access to the tool. The clip’s design keeps the knife securely in place, minimizing movement while you’re on the move.

At the end of the handle, there is a lanyard hole that allows you to attach a safety lanyard. This feature makes it easier to carry the knife in the field.

AUS-10 feature
AUS-10
AUS-10 is a high-quality stainless steel produced by the Japanese company Aichi Steel, considered one of the best in the AUS steel series, used mainly in mid-range and high-end utility knives, produced mainly in Japan and Taiwan. The carbon content (0.95-1.1%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (13-14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which affect hardenability, impact strength, elasticity, and machinability, improving structural stability and maintaining mechanical properties. After hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, offering an excellent balance between strength, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It is comparable to 440C steel, differing in carbon content and the addition of vanadium, which improves structural homogeneity and increases abrasion resistance.
System Ultra Glide feature
System Ultra Glide
Ultra-Glide system used in Schrade knives is a ball bearing-based opening mechanism designed to ensure smooth, light, and quick one-handed blade deployment. This solution minimizes the resistance of the mechanism, making the blade movement smooth, precise, and much more pleasant than in designs without bearings. Ultra-Glide significantly facilitates knife operation by reducing the effort required to open it, making it particularly practical in EDC knives.
Aluminium feature
Aluminium
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles and structural elements. It is characterized by low weight, high corrosion resistance, and high susceptibility to machining and anodizing, which allows for durable, aesthetic surfaces in various colors. Well-chosen aluminum alloys provide adequate rigidity while maintaining low weight, which makes knives more comfortable to carry on a daily basis. In addition, this material is weather-resistant, does not rust, and withstands intensive use well, which is why it is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and outdoor tools.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
