It's a great product, a well-known brand in the outdoor community. It has a transparent cover for the badge. I recommend it both for everyday EDC use and for outdoor and other activities – very practical.

Silky is a Japanese brand of hand saws, founded in 1919 in Ono by Katsuji Miyawaki. For over a hundred years, it has been considered synonymous with precision and reliability, and its saws are distinguished by their high quality. They are made of the highest quality cutlery steel, subjected to impulse hardening technology, and designed for “pull” cutting, which allows for light work and smooth cuts in wood. In 1980, the brand patented its own saw setting process, which significantly improves the sharpness of the teeth; the technology was used in models such as the 4-Retsume and Miraime2. Silky models are used by arborists, foresters, carpenters, and bushcraft enthusiasts around the world. An interesting fact is that the 1985 Silky “Gomboy” saw was the first on the market to have a rubber-coated handle, which distinguished it in the industry and earned it the prestigious Good Design Award in Japan. Thanks to the combination of Japanese craftsmanship and modern technology, Silky has been setting the highest standards in the hand saw segment for decades.

Silky Pocketboy Curve 170’18 is characterized by exceptional sharpness, user comfort, and solid construction. It cuts efficiently, and thanks to its small dimensions, it easily fits in a backpack.
-
I confirm that in terms of efficiency and quality of workmanship, this is first class. Although now, if I had to buy again, I would choose the model of the same brand with a length of 210mm (more universal), but this 170mm pocket version also works just fine if you don't plan to cut thicker logs with it.

The Silky Pocketboy saw is fantastic. Product quality is flawless, and the selected size is optimal for me, which also affects the weight that is absolutely acceptable, making the Silky Pocketboy saw an inseparable companion on forest trips. I recommend it.

Silky equals quality. I bought the saw on sale. I can say it was worth it. You can feel the quality immediately when you pick it up. The saw isn’t big, but it’s more than enough to prepare a bonfire or even a makeshift shelter. The saw is small, so you can easily fit it in your backpack or a larger waist bag. The plastic case also makes carrying and storing it easier. I also have a Bahco Laplander, but in my opinion this one is definitely better. I recommend it.

Amazing Japanese craftsmanship and compact design. The teeth of the saw are very sharp and cut most wood easily. Essential for bushcraft situations as well as survival needs. The grip of the saw is rubberized which is really practical, the length of the blade is enough to cut medium sized branches and smaller wood without trouble. The packaging in which it comes is also quite nice as it is plastic and can double as a case that isolates it from the elements.

Small, sharp, handy, you don’t feel it in your backpack, ideal for any outing. The quality is noticeable as soon as you pick it up, showing the level and class of craftsmanship. Fully fulfills its purpose.
-
Small, handy saw. A great alternative to a multitool or a pocket knife. Perfect for getting kindling. However, if you can bring a larger saw, the efficiency will increase significantly. Here, we have a saw for those saving space in their backpack.
-
The saw can handle not only thin branches, it can cut wood up to about 15 cm in diameter. Thanks to the fact that it is foldable and has a plastic cover, when folded it fits in your pants or jacket pocket. The blade is not long, so if you think you won’t have to put effort into sawing thicker pieces of wood, you’re mistaken. In general, for emergency sawing to quickly get some wood, it’s just right.
-
A nice saw when you want to go out to the forest for a short time. It fits the pocket perfectly. Its operation is excellent. It cuts into wood very well. I recommend it to everyone.
-
Great saw. The only issue I have is that the blade is very tightly fitted, which makes it hard to open and close (I also have a saw from the Outback series and there the blade opens without any problem). The saw cuts very well, ideal for EDC if a pocket knife isn’t enough.
-
The saw is as sharp as a razor and very handy, I recommend it.
-
What more can I say, Silky is Silky, it goes through wood like crazy. The quality of workmanship is at the highest level.
-
A butcher of a saw, cuts wood like butter. Very handy, lightweight.
-
My favorite saw for forest trips, preparing a camp or a bonfire with it is pure pleasure.
