The BK 80/400 OTA Telescope is a doublet achromatic refractor, well-suited as a straightforward tool for novice astronomers. It enables viewing of the Moon, planets, bright star clusters, galaxies, and even prominent nebulae.
A mount is not included with the telescope, but the tube can be fixed to a photographic tripod thanks to an integrated connector. With its considerable focal length, the manufacturer advises using at least an AZ4 (azimuthal) or EQ3-2 (equatorial) class astronomical mount.
Achieving approximately 130 times greater light-gathering capability than the human eye at night, the telescope allows for observation of objects up to nearly 12.1 stellar magnitude. The lens diameter correlates with optical resolution, enabling separation of stars spaced more than 1.8” apart.
