Sky Watcher BK1141EQ1 Telescope serves as an excellent entry-level instrument for those embarking on their journey in amateur astronomy. Designed with a long focal length while keeping the optical tube compact, the telescope’s internal system extends the focal length to 1000 mm.
Optical system
Featuring a Newtonian reflector design, a key advantage of this scope is its substantial 114 mm mirror. Capable of gathering nearly 190 times more light than the unaided human eye can perceive at night, the instrument enables observations of celestial bodies up to almost 12th magnitude (compared to the naked eye limit of 6th magnitude). The sizeable mirror directly impacts optical resolution, making it possible to distinguish stars separated by just 1.2''.
Mount
Outfitted with the EQ1 equatorial mount, operators can align the instrument with star maps or celestial charts, and achieve fine adjustments along the right ascension and declination axes.
Focuser
The included focuser supports the use of 1.25'' eyepieces. The package comes with two eyepieces, measuring 25 mm and 10 mm in focal length, delivering 40x and 100x magnifications respectively.
Image orientation can be corrected using an erecting lens, which adjusts the view to its natural alignment.
