SOG Specialty Knives & Tools is an American brand founded in 1986 by Spencer Fraser, inspired by the MACV-SOG knife used by special forces during the Vietnam War. The first S1 Bowie model was created in collaboration with Japanese master blacksmith Ichiro Hattori and became an icon among tactical knives. SOG gained recognition with the SEAL 2000 model, which was adopted by the Navy SEALs and is now on display at the Navy SEALs museum in Fort Pierce. Black Oxide
Black Oxide is a chemical conversion process in which a thin layer of magnetite (Fe3O4) is formed on the surface of steel and other ferrous metals. It gives a black, matte appearance, reduces reflectivity, and does not affect the dimensions of the components, so it can also be used in precision parts. The coating provides limited corrosion protection, so it is usually reinforced with oil or wax. Black Oxide is used in knives, firearms, and tools. The process requirements are specified in MIL-DTL-13924, which covers processing grades, color uniformity, and corrosion resistance tests, and is the basic standard for military and technical applications.

    It's a versatile and handy tool, well-made and durable. The price is appropriate for the features it offers. The downside, unfortunately, is the scissors – they're poorly sharpened and can't handle all materials, for example paper, which can be problematic.

    I give 4 stars considering the price of this multitool. If I were not to consider the price, I would give a maximum of 3. For me, its biggest advantages are the size, the number of available tools, and the pliers. A major drawback for me is that in order to unlock each of the open tools, it is necessary to open the multitool, because the locks are located inside. The usefulness of the available tools can also be debatable; for example, the screwdrivers are so tiny that they can only be used for really small screws. When watching many reviews of different devices, you often hear the opinion that when it comes to quality, there is Leatherman, Victorinox, and then a long gap before anyone else. Having dealt with devices like this SOG, I am inclined to agree with that, but that doesn't mean this isn't a tool that could be useful every day, especially considering its size and weight.

    Very good multitool for everyday EDC. Takes up very little space. Excellent bit holder system. The only downside is the scissors. They are of poor quality.

    Purchased as a 'cut down on weight' option while still having pliers. Cleverly placed bit holder, pliers are okay. The wire cutter is weak, as are the rest of the tools. If someone wants pliers as a backup, they make a good team with an additional folding knife. Its advantage is definitely low weight and compactness.

    I am completely, but positively speechless. I have several multitools from Leatherman (3), Gerber (4), and Nextool (1), and I am impressed with this one. It's just crazy how they managed to pack so many tools into such a small size. It is incredibly light, so if you have it in your pocket, you can forget it's there. The build quality appears to be top-notch. Of course, this is a mini tool so you can't compare it to a full-size one, but it's not the size of a keychain either. This is exactly what I was looking for: something to carry all the time, but so light and small that you just don't feel like you're carrying anything in your pocket. You can compare it to a good quality lighter in your pocket in terms of size and weight. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. If I needed to, I would look for Sog again—the quality for the price can't be beat!
