I have been using ultrasonic repellents for a long time, and so far they have proven to be very effective. Of course, they are not my only line of defense against ticks, but they are certainly the first and most basic. I chose the rechargeable version for savings and convenience. This repeller, once turned on, will only turn off when discharged. In addition, its compact size allows me to place it both on my footwear and on my wrist. The rechargeable one works for about 3 weeks. I recommend it!
TickLess Active Ultrasonic Tick Repeller - for humans - Green
TickLess – ultrasonic tick repellent is a compact and portable unit that generates ultrasonic waves at a 40 kHz frequency, which cannot be heard by people or animals.
Designed for use during forest hikes, at the allotment, while fishing, camping, engaging in bushcraft, and participating in other wilderness activities where encountering ticks is possible.
Ticks are carriers of dangerous diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Employing TickLess minimizes the risk of tick bites and the subsequent possibility of infection.
frequency 40 kHz, operating range, IP13 standard
Ticks rely on the Haller’s organ, situated on their first pair of legs, to locate a host. An ultrasound signal at 40 kHz, produced by the device, interferes with the sensory perception through this organ. Operational range is approximately 2.5 meters.
A green housing constructed from robust plastic ensures durability. Compliance with the IP13 standard offers defense against solid objects exceeding 50 mm in size and water jets sprayed from various directions at a 60-degree angle.
Device operation
Prior to initial use, ensure the battery (Li-Ion, micro USB) is fully charged. Activate the device by pressing and holding the button; four LED flashes confirm power-up. A red indicator alerts when the battery level falls below 30%. To deactivate TickLess Active, quickly press the button three times; successful shutdown is indicated by two LED flashes.
Secure the device to the shoe lace to enable optimal diffusion of ultrasonic waves. After a complete charge, the operating time ranges from 7 to 14 days. Engage or disengage the night location function (characterized by rapid LED blinking) by holding down the button for several seconds.
Safety and environmental protection
Engineered to be entirely safe for the natural environment, the device releases no harmful substances and offers user-friendly operation. Designed for pregnant women, young children, individuals with pacemakers, and seniors, it stands out as a reliable alternative to chemical repellents, which can sometimes trigger allergic responses.

I bought this repellent mainly because it has a battery and can be recharged. Unfortunately, the mounting system for the shoe doesn't work when walking through brush and rough terrain. Somewhere on the mountain rally route, I lost it.

It's hard to evaluate if it works, that's how it is with such products. However, when you put your ear to the device you can hear some sounds. Used a few times and there were no ticks. One minus for the lack of a sound notification that it turns off after 8 hours, I was in a potentially dangerous area for longer and didn't notice. The battery lasts a long time.
-
It works very well, but is less functional than the battery-powered version. It turns on by itself in the backpack. There is no auto-off, it discharges completely. The shape and mounting are not very ergonomic. You have to remember to charge it—it doesn't work for hundreds of hours like the battery-powered one. I recommend the classic version.

It passed the test, after a week it was recharged.

It works as it should. I recommend it.

So far, I haven't encountered any ticks, and I move a lot in the forest, often off the paths, so it seems effective.
