I have been using ultrasonic repellents for a long time, and so far they have proven to be very effective. Of course, they are not my only line of defense against ticks, but they are certainly the first and most basic. I chose the rechargeable version for savings and convenience. This repeller, once turned on, will only turn off when discharged. In addition, its compact size allows me to place it both on my footwear and on my wrist. The rechargeable one works for about 3 weeks. I recommend it!
TickLess Active Ultrasonic Tick Repeller - for humans - Coral
TickLess – ultrasonic tick repellent is a compact, portable device generating ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, which cannot be heard by people or pets.
Ideal for forest hikes, time spent on garden plots, fishing excursions, camping, bushcraft adventures, and any outdoor activities where encountering ticks is a risk.
Ticks are known carriers of dangerous diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Employing TickLess can lower the chances of bites and thus the likelihood of subsequent infection.
frequency 40 kHz, operating range, IP13 standard
Ticks detect hosts using the Haller’s organ, situated on their first pair of legs. Emission of ultrasound at 40 kHz from the device interferes with the detection capabilities of this organ. The operational range extends up to approximately 2.5 meters.
The Colar variant features a housing crafted from robust plastic. Compliance with the IP13 standard ensures resistance to solid objects exceeding 50 mm and protection against water sprayed from any direction at a 60-degree angle.
Device operation
Prior to initial deployment, ensure the battery (Li-Ion, micro USB) is fully charged. Activate by pressing and holding the button until four LED flashes confirm power-up. A red indicator alerts when the charge level falls below 30%. To deactivate TickLess Active, press the button rapidly three times, with two LED flashes confirming shutdown.
Affix the device to the shoe lace to maximize ultrasonic wave dispersion. A single full charge ensures 7 to 14 days of operational runtime. Engage or disengage the night location function (rapid LED flashing) by holding the button for several seconds.
Safety and environmental protection
Engineered to be entirely safe for the environment, this model releases no harmful substances and offers maximum user convenience. Designed to be harmless for pregnant women, young children, individuals with pacemakers, and seniors, it presents an excellent alternative to chemical repellents, which can sometimes trigger allergic reactions.

I bought this repellent mainly because it has a battery and can be recharged. Unfortunately, the mounting system for the shoe doesn't work when walking through brush and rough terrain. Somewhere on the mountain rally route, I lost it.

It's hard to evaluate if it works, that's how it is with such products. However, when you put your ear to the device you can hear some sounds. Used a few times and there were no ticks. One minus for the lack of a sound notification that it turns off after 8 hours, I was in a potentially dangerous area for longer and didn't notice. The battery lasts a long time.

It works very well, but is less functional than the battery-powered version. It turns on by itself in the backpack. There is no auto-off, it discharges completely. The shape and mounting are not very ergonomic. You have to remember to charge it—it doesn't work for hundreds of hours like the battery-powered one. I recommend the classic version.

It passed the test, after a week it was recharged.

It works as it should. I recommend it.

So far, I haven't encountered any ticks, and I move a lot in the forest, often off the paths, so it seems effective.
