The cover is sturdy, but because of that, it's thick and heavy. Made of thick plastic, quite rigid, and takes up a lot of space when folded. In theory, it's useful in situations when the rifle needs to be submerged underwater for a long time. Unfortunately, it is too narrow. An AR15 carbine with a low-mounted running scope fits in with great difficulty.
