Walther CP99 stands as an authentic, authorized replica of the Walther P99 - known as James Bond's handgun, true to the original in both looks and engineering features. This model also serves as standard issue for Polish police forces. The variant detailed here features a nickel-plated slide.
Equipped with a SA/DA (Single Action/Double Action) trigger mechanism, despite the absence of an external hammer. Readiness to fire is indicated by a prominent marking on the back of the pistol, just above the grip. The trigger can be cocked by racking the rear portion of the slide, and the tension can be safely released if a shot is not taken. An automatic safety is integrated on the right side, situated above the grip.
A distinctive feature is the rear slide reloading mechanism, which sets the trigger and enhances shot precision by shortening the trigger pull to roughly two-thirds of its full length. The pistol is also outfitted with a trigger decocking system at the top of the slide, allowing the trigger to reset if the shooter opts out of firing, even after initiating the trigger pull.
The grip conceals the magazine, which houses a 12-gram CO2 capsule. A button located on the slide unlocks the cover that hides the revolver-style magazine holding 8 diabolo-shaped (mushroom) pellets.
Highly accurate in performance, the pistol proves extremely beneficial for shooter training, including firearms practice; it is well-suited for comfortable carry, rapid target transitions, intuitive handling, trigger control drills, and practical marksmanship exercises.
Models of this type enjoy popularity as training tools, mainly because of affordable operating costs, and are even certified for use in AIPSC (Air International Practice Shooting Competition) dynamic airgun competitions under the oversight of the Polish Shooting Sports Association.
