The buckle is made of strong plastic and is thick enough that it won't break, even if used at the bottom of a backpack and scraped along the floor. Previously, I used self-printed buckles, but PLA cannot replace the material used here, both in terms of weather resistance and mechanical durability. It's hard to thread two straps through the buckle at once, which makes me unsure about its use as a pass-through.
