Wuben L50 Flashlight 1200 Lumens

The flashlight is equipped with an efficient Osram P9 LED diode delivering a beam of up to 1200 lumens and a range of up to 200 meters. In the minimum mode of 5 lumens it can shine continuously for 143 hours.

Aluminum body, IP68 protection rating

The body with a non-slip texture is made of aluminum covered with anodization. An O-ring sealing system ensures complete waterproofness of the connections. The diode is protected by tempered glass, which is highly resistant to mechanical damage and thermal shock.

Control electronics

The heart of the flashlight is advanced electronics controlling the current draw directed to the LED diode. Thanks to this, the flashlight shines in the selected mode with the same output until the battery is completely depleted. The spring has been protected against oxidation and corrosion with a gold layer, and the trapezoidal thread prevents cutting into the edges, such solutions increase the service life of the flashlight.

18650 batteries, charge level indicator

The L50 model is powered by the included Li-Ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh. These batteries are characterized by stable operation over a wide temperature range, and they also do not tend to self-discharge, which makes them a good choice for a flashlight for military, police, rescue and survival applications. The charge level indicator informs about the battery status.

    A great flashlight — solid, durable, and carefully made. It’s not one of the smallest and it has some weight to it, but that only makes it feel even more robust. If you don’t switch it back on immediately but wait a short moment, it remembers the last selected mode the next time it is turned on, which is a big plus, especially since many users had complained about the lack of such a memory function. Now all that remains is for me to test it in practice, also underwater, of course with due caution.

    The flashlight is charged via USB-C and works as described by the manufacturer. However, I have one important comment: when changing brightness levels with the rear button, the device does not save the last selected mode – after switching it on again, it always starts differently. This means you can turn it on and unexpectedly get much stronger light than you expected. Depending on the circumstances, this can be harmless or really inconvenient, but there is always an element of uncertainty. Ideally, a double click would activate the moonlight mode so you could start at a predictable level, or at least the flashlight could remember the last used setting. Without this option, it really bothers me – I considered giving three stars, but after some thought, I can only give two, because besides USB-C charging it doesn’t offer much. Maybe next time Wuben will improve something.

    Solid, compact design, made with attention to every detail. The beam of light is more than decent. I am satisfied with the purchase, although I have not yet tested its resistance to dust and moisture. I will probably buy a second one for my father.
