The knife is beautiful in its ruggedness. Made without finesse, it's simply a piece of sharpened steel dressed in a wooden handle. Right at the start, the steel guard needed to meet a file (sharp edges), and the wooden scales required some sandpaper treatment (minor flaws). The saber grind used here might remind someone of a Scandinavian grind, but it's simply a partial flat grind. Thanks to this, behind the cutting edge there's a thick piece of steel, which will be hard to break or chip in any way. The wood is also worth conserving—personally, I used Danish oil, which only slightly darkened the light shade of the ash wood. The knife isn't really intended for people with large hands. The handle is just barely enough for size 9/L hands and disappears completely in them. With size 10/XL, it would probably be uncomfortable to use such a knife. On the plus side, the leather sheath is very well made and securely holds the knife in any position.
