Za-Pas Nessmuk Knife - Black

Durable outdoor knife with a Full Tang construction, designed for camping, bushcraft and everyday field tasks. It is equipped with a Drop-Point profile blade, made of NMV tool steel and finished with the Stonewash method, as well as a contoured handle with black G10 laminate scales. The set includes a Kydex sheath, allowing various methods of mounting and carrying the knife.

NMV tool steel with a hardness of 59-60 HRC

The blade is made of NMV tool steel, distinguished by high impact toughness and good resistance to dulling. The steel has been hardened to approximately 59-60 HRC, which ensures a good balance between blade durability and the ability to retain sharpness for a long time. The material performs well during intensive field work, where resistance to mechanical loads is important. Due to its properties, the blade requires proper maintenance, especially after contact with moisture and during longer storage.

Drop-Point profile blade with a full flat grind

The knife is equipped with a blade with a length of 115 mm and a thickness of 3,5 mm. The Drop-Point profile combined with an almost full flat grind works well for camp tasks, material preparation and jobs requiring precise cutting. The cutting edge is sharpened at an angle of 20 deg.. The surface of the blade is finished using the Stonewash method, which helps mask minor marks formed during use.

Full Tang construction, G10 laminate scales

The Nessmuk is made in a Full Tang construction, in which the blade tang runs through the entire length of the handle. This solution increases the knife's durability during demanding field work. The scales are made of black G10, a laminate resistant to moisture, temperature changes and the effects of many chemical substances. The contoured handle surface makes it easier to maintain a stable grip during work.

Kydex sheath

The set includes a sheath made of Kydex, intended for safe knife carry. The sheath construction allows various mounting methods, including attachment to a belt or equipment compatible with the PALS system. Holes placed around the perimeter also allow the use of an optional Tek-Lok mount, making it possible to match the knife carry method to the rest of the equipment.

NMV feature
NMV
NMV is a medium carbon tool steel (approximately 0.9%) characterized by good hardness, abrasion resistance, and strength. Its carbon content ensures high hardness in the range of 58-60 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for a durable cutting edge. This steel also contains small amounts of manganese (0.3%) and silicon (0.2%), which improve its hardenability and structural stability. O2 is relatively easy to machine, making it a popular choice for the manufacture of cutting tools, industrial knives, files, and cutting tools. It is susceptible to corrosion and therefore requires proper maintenance and protection against rust. Due to its abrasive properties and hardness, O2 steel is mainly used in work tools that require wear resistance.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
