Haw San (华山, Huashansha) is a Taiwanese airsoft brand specializing in unconventional, character-driven gas-powered replicas — primarily shotguns and double-barreled designs with a distinctive look rooted in action cinema and post-apocalyptic culture. The brand is best known for the Mad Max model — a gas-powered double-barrel shotgun with a wooden stock and metal barrel, a direct nod to post-apocalyptic film aesthetics and MILSIM scenario staging.
Mad Max — the iconic Haw San
The brand's flagship product, the Mad Max Double Barrel shotgun, is a gas-powered replica of a double-barrel in full-metal construction with a wooden stock, featuring a shell-loading system. Each shell holds 24 6mm BBs split across three hop-up ports with 8 rounds each, delivering a characteristic wide spread on every shot — an effect well-suited to close-quarters airsoft engagements and dramatic MILSIM encounters. The Short version measures approximately 47 cm in overall length. The replica is available in variants compliant with Japanese firearm regulations and adapted for individual European markets — with muzzle energy not exceeding 0.98 J in the Japanese-spec versions.
Aesthetics and atmosphere
Haw San stands out in the airsoft market through its focus on products with strong visual character and thematic appeal — targeting not competitive players, but collectors, action film enthusiasts, and MILSIM participants looking for props and replicas that bring the right atmosphere to their scenarios. The combination of full-metal construction and natural wood gives Haw San shotguns exceptional collectible appeal. The brand's products are available across European markets, Japan, and Hong Kong, distributed through specialist airsoft retailers.
